Ok then. If this were a first time occurance I could see your point. But, when some start saying that this might have been timed on purpose for football is just a disrepect to the two schools involved. So if they merged 6 months earlier you think that it would have been that much easier to fill spots on the schedule for all the teams involved? That would still be very difficult.

Mercer lost one district game last season. So I guess we will wait and see what Newport says if we beat them. They can beat us so I see no excuses coming from them.

With each victory the whining and crying will intensify. I haven't met the first fan yet of a team we beat that complained about the numbers advantage. That wont happen til the playoffs I guess.

Yeah I see. I will be happy to see THE Boyle Co Rebels finally have a home game. That will be the turning point right there. The fans need to come out in force and I know they will.

You don't even know who is out there. You don't have a dog in this fight anyway. Scrimmages don't count so you can't hold that Mercer beatdown of Somerset against them.

And I am not one of those. I have stated all along that Boyle has played a murderous schedule. That and being so young is the reason that Boyle is 1-4. They shouldn't be forgotten cause they lost to Mercer. That wasn't the scotties out there. Boyle will turn things around immediately after the off week. I've said all along that those kids need a home game desperately.

Both schools are open. How hard is it to understand that the Harrodsburg school district is no longer? Both high schools are still open. They both are Mercer Co. If those are your student athletes then why can't they compete on your team? You are just stirring the pot. That's what the vote was for. Realize this. They saw the positives. ($$) You wont be able to find a better campus in the state when the school is built. Now all the kids in the county and the city will have the same opportunities. Harrodsburg was 3-8 last season. Before the Titans blew up that's all I heard. They wont be any better cause Harrodsburg was 3-8 last year. But, I knew better. I knew the talent that was not coming out for football since Alvis Johnson left the Harrodsburg program. Harrodsburg still had to vote on the merge. It passed. Whether Mercer voted to accept or deny the merge they had no choice. I think Mercer fielded a pretty good team that lost to the eventual state champions in Russell last year. It wasn't like they were desperate to field a competitive team. You can argue this all year. And I know you will cause it's the only natural thing you can do when you can't stop somthing. Just complain about it.

He is everything Boyle Co football is known for. Don't kid yourself man. From here on out no matter what Boyle does it will have nothing to do with Chuck Smith. But those 5 titles are due to the fact that Chuck Smith built that program from the ground up. Every other Boyle fan will not disagree with that. Where would those guys (tamme,leffew's, etc...) be without Chuck Smith? Those players didn't just pop up. He molded those kids into the players they were. Are you not going to give a coach who won 5 state titles in a row and 47 straight the credit he deserves? Like I said I never mentioned the 2006 Rebels. I came to the defense of Chuck not ducking and running cause some may have thought that he saw tough times ahead. Once again. I was defending, not throwing shots.

Nope. That may be the way you took at it. You don't think that Chuck is one of the best coaches in this state? Who built that program? Who put them on the map? Chuck Smith is Boyle Co football. If you read carefully I was defending the decision for Coach smith leaving. It was by no means as quoted by Fletch as the best time to leave while the getting was good. But, I do believe that Coach Pardue is a good coach.

Hey man, what's your problem? It was stated earlier that chuck smith left Boyle while the getting was good. I came to the defense and said that chuck smith left due to the timing being perfect with brandon graduating. I mentioned nothing of the current Boyle team. I havent thrown any shots after the game friday. You can look at all my posts if you want and I want you to find one, just one post where I was negative towards the 2006 Boyle co Rebels. I've been defending those kids all season.

The current Mercer high is crowded as it is. All sports are combined. They will have a great track team as well. Their long jumper chrys jones is a national champion. This year will be over with before you know it. Mercer isn't unbeatable. But they aren't the scotties either.

It still is Mercer County high no matter how you look at it. The kids were allowed to attend either Mercer High school location they wanted. But, classes are held at both schools for some students.

Not under two different districts. With the elimination of the Harrodsburg district they get all the money to build the school in one phase instead of multiple ones.

It always boils down to money. In this case not football. The school recieved many millions more with the added enrollment to add to the school. Almost everything boils down to money these days.

I'm not getting upset and I'm not saying that Mercer is on anybody's level. You were comparing scores earlier so I thought I would throw one out their showing how SL dismantled SW after getting dismantled by Mercer. Please don't think I'm upset. I think of this as good entertainment. Nobody is saying here that Mercer is going to win the title hands down. We do think we have a good chance to make it there. Somerset is in class A so they should worry about class A. I don't see Danville complaining about being outnumbered when they play bigger schools. Danville is a champion on a higher level then the majority of the teams in the state. They don't complain. They just win. They pretty much have swept the entire county of pulaski this season. I agree that Mercer has a huge advantage but they also have a team that has been together for a couple of months. You can consider that as a disadvantage. If they win the title it may have an * in many eyes but not mine. It will have Mercer County Titans 2006 class AA state champions.

This wasn't planned to happen at the last minute like you think. You don't even know how this tore the community apart during the past year.

It's kinda like the kid in school that nobody respected or made fun of. But while school was out that kid really grew. That kid really grew. It happens sometimes. It's just one year people. Instead of slamming their numbers why don't someone explain how they could have been moved up to 3A this year. They merged in june. You know how hard it would be to just find one game before the season started? I'm not just talking about Mercer. Just think about the team's on the Mercer schedule. That's alot of money these schools would lose. Plus losing a game off their schedule. Someone help me out and explain how anybpdy could pull this off. That's why the KHSAA doesn't do things like that.

They consolidated due to the fact that Mercer is currently building a new high school that will be second to none in the state. And now was the perfect time to merge. This has been a topic (merge) for several years.
