  1. I agree. It was a great game. Mercer killed themselves with penalties. Some were terrible calls though. Especially that facemask in which would have given Mercer the ball back. The Boyle player was pulled down by his jersey and the ref threw the flag when he had no clear view of the play. It was huge cause Boyle scored on the very next play.
  2. I thought the game had alot more sportsmanship then the previous thread.
  3. I hope they do play. It would be a highly anticipated game. I don't think Mercer will care who they play. But, with Russell being the champ I see them wanting to get ahold of Mercer. Mercer 42 Russell 21
  4. I agree. Great game Boyle. You guys will get things going. Those kids just need that 1st home game to get things going in the right direction. When you play the schedule they have had with all their games on the road then you are going to take some lumps.
  5. You misuderstood what I meant about the 4-0 part. How would anybody do in our class against Henry Clay,Danville, or Lafeyette. Any of us could possibly drop all three of those. Outside of Henry Clay Boyle has been there til the end of every game. Racking huge amounts of yardage along the way. I'm not talking up Boyle cause we play them tonight. I've been commenting on how people are writing them off since I saw them play Danville. They spotted Danville 14 points and Lafeyette with 17 due to mistakes. I think youth has alot to do with that. But, Boyle has a foundation they will build on. I really disagree with your last sentence. Have you seen them play since Henry Clay? They will be the best offensive team we face all year.
  6. I've seen Boyle co play. Nobody in AA is going to throttle them. I think this is one heckeva game to evaluate some strengths and weakness areas. To those who THINK this is not a tough Boyle team, they will get throttled. You are right. They start a few sophomores. How many teams in AA would be 4-0 right now with their schedule?
  7. Mercer completely shut down South Laurel who in return dismantled Southwestern last week. I believe they put up 47 points. Mercer would have shut them out if not for a bad call in the back of the endzone. But, noone is going to win an argument with schedule strength. Not too many teams have played the type of schedule that the Rebels have played. But, another advantage for Mercer is that Boyle has only seen a limited amount of the Mercer offense just like everyone else. I expect a game late into the fourth quarter. But, who knows? This one could get ugly for either team.
  8. That's why in years past they have always been reclassified the following year. I know it seems unfair but it's not the first time for this. But if I was a fan or a player/coach on an opposing team in the same class I wouldn't be happy either.
  9. Actually they only dress around 70 kids. I think their are a few team in AA that dress that many. If they were realigned this year then they would be AAA. Your Russell's,Belfry's,Western's can beat alot of AAA teams. The path to the AA title is wide open. Boyle Co isn't going to be a walk in the park tomorrow. The coaching staff is good enough to remind them that they can be beat.
  10. I heard earlier in the year that there were talks of a renewal in the rivalry. Myself, I would like to see an annual bowl game for this area that includes Boyle,Danville,Lincoln, and Mercer. Maybe one like the Bob Allen Classic. One positive thing out of all of this is that maybe this will make this area even stronger for high school football with the Patriot,Ads,Rebels, and the Titans. That's a tough quartet.
  11. I've seen western play. They have some serious team speed. They didn't impress me on the defensive side. But they have a good team that we could face early in the playoffs I believe. They have some cat quick backs for sure.
  12. Oops. My bad. With High school, college, and the NFL going on I guess I got my weeks mixed up.
  13. I know Mercer had some tough years in the 90's but the last couple of years they have been making strides. I did check out the field the other day and it looked pretty impressive. They have put some money into the last few years I can see.
  14. Our house as in Mercer field or Harrodsburg field. Is serving your country a legit reason for not being at a game in a few years? I never missed a game before that. I told you work had kept me away for a while. I have to say that you don't forget much.
  15. You are funny. You need to put those contacts back in and try reading my post history again. I did say that Mercer possibly had the deepest and fastest backfield of any team in the state. One of the players parents that I work with told me of their combine times which were sick. Now whether their was any truth to the times I don't know. If corey Jackson doesn't run in the 4.3's then I hate to see the backs that do. I posted that craig yeast ran the 40 in the 4.3's and I was told that was total bull. I believe that anybody who saw craig yeast play in person would say that was very believable. In an earlier post I did mention that Harrodsburg had 3 NFL draft picks in the last 15 years. Am I lying? Well You have proven to all you have the internet. Look that up. After you put your contact lens in that is. If I am way out of line then I guess I am. But stats don't lie either. The top four backs combined for over 4,500 yards. I think that is pretty impressive. Also, I want you to copy and paste the post where I said that Mercer had the best O-line and D-line of any team. I did say that they were rebuilding both of their lines this year. Are you saying Boyle Co. isn't a tough team? I haven't mentioned one time that Mercer was going to spank any team in particular. You seem to think I did so, why don't you copy and paste that. Pretty much the only truth that comes out of this is that you are mad about the merger. You seem to be slamming Mercer due to this. Well, the KHSAA holds that trump card. I think it would be hard for 20 opponents of two schools that merged to pick up new opponents 3 months before the season starts. That's why the KHSAA re-classifies every 2 years. Get your stuff together. You wont find in any of my posts where I talked crap to possible future opponents of Mercer. And, I have admired Boyle Co. football for a long time. Some people might not know that Chuck Smith started his coaching career as an assistant at Mercer co. in the mid 80's. Coach Larry French the coach at Mercer at the time gave chuck his first coaching job in the high school ranks. So in a way Mercer had a little somthin to do with the 5 state titles in a row. Kinda like Kansas and Pho Allen having somthing to do with the greatness of Ky basketball. Not much but a little. Chuck had to start somwhere. Boyle Co has had alot of people admire their program. And, no I'm not going to talk trash about the game this week cause it could go either way. Sorry about that folks. No matter what is replied to my post I'm not going to answer. I told Watsui that I would avoid confrontations from now on. I just wanted to clear my name. I love football at every level. I take it seriously and some people don't. I believe most on this site do.
  16. Ouch. I hope to see you guys there. If we lose I will be gracious.
  17. I'd say it's a long bus ride there. Poor Morgan co.
  18. Russell wins big on their worst day.
  19. I hope he is able to go. I know he doesn't want to miss this one. He is a competitor.
  20. Can Whitley contain that backfield of Lincoln? I don't believe they can. Lincoln 42 Whitley 7
  21. Boyle-Mercer no doubt. This one could be a toss up.
  22. Could be, not will be. Who knows? It's too early to tell who is legit. Mercer or whoever. Mercer will be tested by Boyle friday. I don't think their would be any tougher test in AA. Also, that trophy isn't given away, it is won. And everybody is still alive the last time I checked. I don't think this is a congratulations thread. Mercer will have to go through eastern ky to get to Louisville. No doubt!
