Throw it into Giesler every trip down the floor and let the big dog eat! When you have a POY candidate you get it to him as much as possible. He is a good passer from the post so he will create a lot of open looks for the shooters from the wing.

Depends on your team and organizations goals at this time. With their new additions Real Deal has some players who can compete at the top levels. Maybe timing just wasn't right to try and compete at Hoopfest?

Was included in the "Closing In" portion of the list but probably has a very strong case for being in the Top 25. Was best PG in Northern Kentucky and in 10th Region last year. Top 5 player in the 10th Region who played well in the post season. I think you can make a strong argument for Jake Giesler and Smith to have been overlooked for top 25. They played well during the high school season and have outplayed a couple of their AAU teammates who did make it into the top 25 on the AAU circuit.

Probably just my N Ky bias but I think there are a couple of players from this area that belong in the top 25. Think that while he is not a top 25 player Jake Thelen from CovCath deserves to be in that next group of players. He did average 20 ppg against a pretty good high school schedule and he does play for a pretty solid AAU team. From what I have seen this summer it would be hard to not include Jack Stewart from Highlands in that next group as well. I think he is a legitimate candidate for POY next year in N Ky.

Just making a general statement from his rankings over the years. For example I thought Mikey Gabbard from Boone Co was too low in his rankings in last years senior class. I am willing to bet that when his 2011 rankings come out that players like Jake Giesler, Kellen Smith, Jake Thelen and Bobby Stauffer will not make his top 25. These players will have better resumes from high school and AAU then some players who are in the top 25 but again it is all subjective.

I like Demling and think he does a good job getting kids names out there. Rankings are always subjective and are great conversation starters. I would like him to take a longer look at the N Ky kids but again that is my opinion.

He has got a really good starting backcourt coming back with one of the best PG's around and a solid 2G who averaged around 10 ppg last season as a first year varsity starter. Thats a pretty good place to start! Good thing is that no one in the district has a lot of returning varsity experience and when the best player in the district in the starting PG for your team I think you will take your chances. I think Scott will get back to the style they played back in 2006 with Sharp, Quigley, Smith and Miller just flying around on defense and shooting a lot of threes. I think Smith is going to have to carry more of the load scoring the basketball. If they can rebound the basketball next season they have a chance to win some games.

37th District is always interesting and the coaching change at CC just adds a little more flavor to the district. District has different coaching styles and philosophies. CC has to be able to beat Brossart in a tough grind it out game and then be able to run with Scott. They did not have a lot of success trying to run with Scott last year. Scott has been successful in the district lately because they have been able to win both types of games. Carr has been able to make adjustments and win with both styles. Will be interesting to see what style Russell plays once season begins.

Not sure why it would surprise people if Campbell County had good year. Biggest school in their district with top notch facilities. For Campell County to take the next step they have to be able to consistently beat the teams in their district. Brossart and Scott lost a lot to graduation but they have the same staffs in place. CC also lost a lot to graduation and will be bringing in a new coaching staff. How does CC stack up against Scott & Brossart going into next season?

Snapp is a good guy and has a lot of enthusiasm. Not sure how much talent is left at Newport but Snapp will be a good hire.

Have not seen Campbell Co this summer but Beechwood has been solid all summer. Should be another crazy year in the 37th and the entire 9th Region looks to be a pick em! Whoever gets hot come tourney time in the 9th can make it to Rupp.

Maybe since Setty has already committed he has taken a low key approach to the AAU season. Not still playing for a scholarship opportunity like a lot of the players in the 10th.

I have not seen Stinson at any of their summer games to date. Not sure if he is hurt, playing baseball or just not in the picture????

With the growth of AAU ball and the emphasis that colleges have placed on being able to look at multiple prospects at a single venue or tournament I don't know how realistic it is to expect the high school coach to have a major impact on recruiting. Some high school coaches are very good at helping their players with the recruiting process and some aren't. High school coaches as a rule have serious demands on their time. They are responsible for everything that goes on in their program from freshmen on up. They need to be aware of what is going on in their middle school programs and most either still teach classes or are in administration. Not to mention any family needs or obligations. While most might not admit it the needs of the few kids in their program who have the desire and skills to play at the next level are often not as high on the priority/to do list that they have on a daily basis. Not a referendum on whether McQuery should have done more for Gabbard but more of a general statement as to how the process works today.

Scott will be well coached and will play hard just not sure of the talent level left in Taylor Mill. Lose 3 starters and not sure what is in the younger classes. Good freshmen team from last year but it is a big step up to the varsity level. Guard play will be solid with Kellen Smith and Cameron Haynes as the two returning starters.

Justice did end up with a scholarship

Ninth Region is so wide open next year that a couple of transfers could really change the landscape.

Cameron Haynes goes to Scott HS. He was a starter last year at the 2 for Scott. Had a nice year as a first year varsity starter averaging about 9-10 ppg. Drew Baker goes to CovCath.
