I can speak for the Breds since they have put the Jumpers out last 2 years but they just don't beat themselves. Very well coached.

I'm not certain on his measurements but I know that he recorded a 4.4 at the Notre Dame camp this summer. He seems faster to me than Norman and Newell were last year. p.s. The Cats Pause also had him as the 9th ranked basketball player in the region. Definitely an incedible all around athlete.

Yeah and everything you just mentioned is what makes them a better team! We made mistakes they did not. You left out the penalties. Man that is part of the game and we just did not execute. I think if we play them 10 times they win 8-9 and the one or 2 that we win we would have to play a perfect game and N.C.C. be off.

S Football I love your enthusiasm and that you believe we were the better team but we have been beat the last 2 years by the better team. The thing that seperates them from us is they did not make the mistakes. While they were physically bigger than us, that did not beat us. They have much better numbers but I thought you guys battled every play and did not get wore down so being out-manned did not beat us. The Breds took away our running game and we were playing catch up and couldn't get it done because when we would get close we shot ourselves down with boneheaded penalties and turnovers.

Wake up man, or put down the shot glass,:sleep: No way Somerset is the better team. We would have had to play almost perfect but we didn't. Some things are things that just happen in a game, Ints, fumbles, missed tackles, etc... but 2 penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct that is unacceptable. The first was just an aggressive play but the second for the hit of bounds was a killer! I too want to congratulate John Cole. I am realy surprised that he isn't getting all kind of post time here because he is the real deal and I truly believe that anyone at the game saw what an incredible athlete he is.

You are correct Chief the Jumper player had already commited to the tackle when Vicars went down and when he rolled over and started to pop up our guy couldn't change his angle. Hate that he was hurt like that though. Now the late hit out of bounds on our sideline hurt us and put us in a bad hole. In talking to some of the NCC fans after the game though not one of them complained or called it a cheap shot we were just all hoping the kid would be ok to play next week. Funny story, after the game 1 of the young people from NCC was shouting out his car window "Where are we going next week, ... STATE" when a group of students walked by and said "Yeah we have been there before so act like it!!" Dude just rolled his window up and sat there.

I tell you there is 1 kid for NCC that I have not seen his name mentioned but Geroge Gardner, man that kid has a motor!! He played from sideline to sideline last night. Seems like his name was mentioned in every defensive play. Also your stud Zach Kiernan, played hard and from the stands just seemed like a gracious kid with a lot of class. Helped our kids from the pile as did young men from both sides last night. I want to thank all of our kids for making us proud the last 2 years, but especially to Cam Jones, who went down early with an injury, bud you are the heart and soul of that defense and I hate that you went down early. However you showed that warrior spirit by trying to get back in there. Love ya man!! K-MO keep your head up son, The Somerset Briar Jumpers do not even play in this game 2 years in row without you!! Do not let 1 play get you down man, you led this team to this game!!!!! Great crowd last night and N.C.C. players, fans, and students if there was a state championship title for CLASS, You win hands down!!!

Jumpers had to play error free and didn't but they proved they belong. Both teams lost big players, NCC lost Vicars and #15 sorry don't know his name. Somerset lost their leading tackler and best defensive player Cam Jones. NCC was the better team and deserved the win. I hope that both of the young men from NCC are able to play next week. NCC should be proud of their team and the class in which their boys conduct themselves!!!!

Good game Breds. Jumpers tried to make several runs late but were just deflated the entire game by turnovers. Congratulations to Somerset Junior John Cole for breaking the state single season record for receiving yards tonight. Great season Jumpers! Hold your heads up high, you have made everyone in this town proud.:thumb:

Hey NewCath fans it is about time for you to start heading south to beautiful Lake Cumberland area. Please have a safe drive here and back home. I can't wait for this game and hope you bring a big student section they are always fun to watch. Jumpers get ready we will have to be at our best and you can do it!!!!

Good points, however the Jumpers opponents are not much worse, Danville still playing with Franklin Co. and Southwestern having lost 2 very close games to teams still alive. Plus Howie is wearing his purple shirt tonight on Deal or No Deal. It is an Omen!!!! Gotta be the Jumpers tomorrow night!

There is so much good in this story, Adam's attitude the whole time he was going thru was just unbelieveable. I have never seen him get down, he is always positive and has a huge smile on his face. The way the other young people have helped him and encouraged him. I was so glad that this was the headline story in our local paper,and not just a sports story. I tell you Friday night there was a lot of grown-ups with big lumps in their throats!! I too wish the young man from Mayfield all the best and it would be great to see these 2 wonderful young men lead their teams out onto the field at Papa Johns!

Maybe this is just a homer pick and I think that the Jumpers must play a near perfect game and NCC be off a little but I got a feeling on this one and am going to pick the Jumpers in a close one. 28-21 on a late t.d.. I am basing this on the fact the NCC will have traveled 2 weeks in a row, after playing a huge emotional game against B-wood and it catches up with them. Plus I feel that Somerset was off a little this past Friday night and will bounce back with a big effort this weekend. I have heard that this will be a 6:00 p.m. kick-off. Can anyone confirm this?

Congrats Jumpers!!!! When was last time Somerset had back to back regional championships? Hazard you young men deserve the same congratulations!! You guys laid it all out last night. Bright future it looks like with that stud young q.b.. Now Jumpers let's focus on NewCath and do what you have to get to that next step!! You have made all of Somerset and Pulaski Co. proud!! Ross Deaton, John Cole and Cam Jones are all amazing athletes to watch but Mr. Adam Fleming, you son, are an inspiration to us!!

Reckon Coach Cobb got is point across to our administration in today's paper concerning their apathetic attitude towards the field and lights situation in the last few weeks? A little background first,for the last 2 weeks against Cumberland and Harlan the lights on the visitors side down on end of end zone have not worked. The athletic department and facilities manager (both Slick Perkins and Cloyd Bumgardner) have been pitiful in their responsibilities in caring for the field. For the last 2 years instead of the maintenance department mowingand raking the field one of our parents have had to do it. The parent mostly responsible would not want his name mentioned but has gone through some terribly trying times healthwise. I do not recall the superindentnor Jeff Perkins the principal thanking him. There is no telling how much money he has saved our school system at the expense of his health I believe. This man is as good a human being as has ever walked this earth. So in today's paper Coach finally spoke his peace that he would have rather had this game on the road as for him and the boosters to spend the week working on the facilities, taking time away from him coaching FOR A REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!! I say THANK YOU COACH COBB!!!

Another Jumper fan that is pulling for the Warriors!! Go Southwestern!!! I have no prediction as I have no idea what Central does or haven't taken time to look at their schedule and record this year. The Commonwealth Journal will look odd Sunday " 2 Regional Champs in Pulaski Co.!" I just hope they kick their spellchecker in gear and spell everything correctly!!!!

Well since this thread is well on its way to being shut down also. I just want to say I will miss this district and the fans from all the teams. I do not think there are more passionate fans anywhere than fans from the mountain teams. We have had success but there was a year where we got it handed to us. I just hope we are suuceesful for years to come and wish luck to district 7 region 4 teams from here on!!!
