This event could be alot better. Whoever is in charge of putting these games together should really try to get the best out of both Cincy and Nky.

It really looks to me like Holmes has the easiest path to the semi's.

Which of the three nky teams (Cov. Cath, Simon Kenton and Holmes) has the best shot in your opinion to possibly win the 5/3? Remember Cov Cath opens up with a bye and will most likely play Doss in the 2nd round. Simon Kenton opens up with Henry Clay. Holmes opens up with Johnson Central.

No one really knows what having Duran in the lineup would have done for sure but I can say with confidence that he would not have been able to stop Hurd either. Size and the lack of anyone other than their big three doing anything is Holmes' biggest problem. If my memory is correct in that SK game at halftime only Hill, Rice and Henderson scored for the Bulldogs. Someone else is going to have to step up even when Duran comes back in order for the Dogs to make a serious post season run.

That's fair. Scott did do a good job of limiting Hester with their defense but I just think that Mike and SK as a whole doesnt play well in that gym. I think the game at SK later in the season should be a little different.

I dont think Simon Kenton is complaining. This is a good thing really, gives more chances to nky teams to do well in post season.

I dont mind putting two teams at number 5 right now but Scott im not sure of. Definite top 10 team but I dont know about 5. Scott took SK to the wire but SK always struggles at Scott. Too much emotion for the SK players when they go there. Especially Hester, who had his worst game of the season so far in that game. I wouldnt mind putting St Henry in that tie at 5. Conner also was really surprising when they played SK. They are a tough team. Them and Scott I would say are lurking right outside the top 5.

In my opinion St Henry is not a better basketball team than Holy Cross. Holy Cross got beat by a Lex Cath team that any of the 5 teams on your list could easily get beat by and to a solid Oak Hill team without one of their top players. St Henry got a pretty bad beating at SK which could have been worse if SK would have showed up in the first half and barely beat a Cov Cath team without 2 of their starters. As for your second 5, here we go with the IF word.

I kept Bishop at 5 because they really havent played anyone good. After Cov Cath got beat by St Henry that moved Holy Cross ahead of them in my mind. Plus Holy Cross has got a really tough early schedule so had to give them some props for that.

I believe SK opens up with Henry Clay in the 5/3. Has anyone seen or heard anything about Henry Clay this year. I watched SK play them last year at Scott Co and they played them really well. I also know they dont have Dunnaway anymore but dont know what kind of squad they got this year.

Well lets see Austin dropped 35 so im sure he didnt play too bad. Arrez had a nice solid game. I believe he had somewhere around 17 pts and a bunch of rebounds. Arrez also did a nice job of playing defense on Hester for the most part. Holmes forced 20+ turnovers in that game so they were doing their job with that. Really the only thing that stands out is that Greg was too small to guard Josh and it showed. OK so he isnt 6'4, he's 6'2. That just proves my point even more that Holmes is going to struggle against any team that has a true big man that can score. Lucky for them there isnt too many of them around this state and especially in the 9th.

I think they should be ok

First off Holmes didnt play a horrible game. Just accept the fact that SK is a great team and outplayed Holmes PERIOD! And as for Jefferson, I seem to remember a Bulldog's fan on here saying that Holmes will not be beaten by any team up here with or without Duran. Holmes had no answer for Hurds size and this will be a problem for them all year since Rice is only 6,4 and needs to be stronger.

Elbert had an off game and SK really didnt feed the ball to Hurd as much as they should. Conner is a better basketball team than I expected. Hester I believe finished with 26 or 27.

If Hester lets Lenhoff score 29pts then they just might win. If SK doesnt play well they still win a close game but if they play a good game which I hope they do. SK- 68 St. Henry- 50

I dont know why Hester didnt start the game and I also heard that Blevins didnt play at all. As for Hester not doing much, I dont know if it had anything to do with his foot ( hopefully not ) but some kids just dont get up for a scrimmage game. I hope once the season starts he will be back to his old self again.

They like him for his athleticism. I bring up basketball because I honestly dont see Duran really ever doing much at UK in football. And NO im not saying he is better than anybody on UK's basketball team but he is good enough to walk on. I've always thought Duran was a much better basketball player than he was a football player but D-1 bball scholarships arent as easy to get as football.

Where in my quote did you read that? I said he would help the team in practice. Bradley had 6 turnovers in the game and Duran even though people are taking shots at him now is still a great basketball player. Especially on defense and that would help the PG's on their team to have him to go up against in practice day after day. I said he is better than some of the kids that have actually walked on to UK's team and that is the truth. HAHAHA

I personally dont think it will happen in my lifetime but I think a 45 sec or even 60 sec clock might be a good thing. As for the argument that it will bring more forced shots and bad offensive possesions. If you cant get yourself a decent shot in 45 seconds you dont deserve to take a decent shot and thus a decent shot to win the game.

Care to elaborate? Duran is better than some of the kids that have tried out and made UK's team. He would be a great kid to have on the team just for his ability to help the team in practice. And after watching Bradley play point last night they could use some help.
