Breathitt County 51 Lee County 43

This seems to be a problem at alot of places. But just because there may be better players on the bench, you can't make the coach play them. When the community, along with the district, or even region feel that a player is getting done wrong then there is a serious problem. Building a program is one thing, but winning is another. Playing a freshmen over a Jr. or Sr. just to build a program is rediculous. I don't understand coaches mentalities sometimes in these cases. Why not put the absolute best team on the floor night in, night out? -
1. JBS 2. Powell 3. Breathitt 4. PCC 5. Hazard 6. Buckhorn 7. Lee 8. Knott 9. Letcher 10. Estill

I understand that, but a loss is a loss. Both teams had many turnovers lastnight, and some say that it was a poorly officiated game. Neither of the teams played to their potential IMO. I've seen them both play many times this year and both played alright. Powell just stuck it out in the fourth quarter. Hicks had an outstanding game with 27 pts., as did Romans. Powell also ran the ball up and down the floor, which i don't think Hazard anticipated. They did although look a little tired, but that's the way it goes. IMO both teams are contenders, good luck to both the rest of the year.

I see, I'm not really saying that at all either, Hazard is a terriffic team, it's just not good timing to be down, afterall they were on a row and winning in the all A. It's just no time to be down, not this late into the season.

Should be ugly for Wolfe. Woodford by 25.

It's Feb., Hazard Won the 14th Region All A tournament and lost to a very good Bardstown team, why should they be in a slump after one loss. When you lose you need to put it behind you and keep on winning. You can't blame the loss on a "slump" and if it takes 1 or 2 games to get on track then i hope they don't lose any district games, cause theres no "getting back on track" at region, you lose, you're done. JMHO

How can Buckhorn be #4? What has LCC done to be #6, Powell just beat Hazard by 10 lastnight and you have them at number 7. I can't see Estill in the Top 10, with a loss to Jackson City. If you're going to make a top 10, don't make it a fantasy top 10, this is a serious post. :thumb:

Just wondered.

Any thoughts on the top 10?

This is very true. At the beginning of the season i thought JBS would be hands down the best team in the 14th, but they have proven to be one of the streakiest teams in the region. IMO, PCC, Hazard, JBS, Powell, and Breathitt are the favorites, it just depends on who shows up.

It's Very Tight Tincup!!! The region just keeps getting tighter. :ylsuper:

Was this at Breathitt? -
IMO Hazard played pretty well, they were just merely out hustled and out played. IMO the Bulldogs played about the same as i've seen them all year, you can't blame a team for getting out played though, it happens.

Final. From Stanton. Great Win for the Pirates. Powell led almost all 4 quarters, it was tied at 45 midway through the third, but Powell took off in the 4th, helped by the foul out of Campbell. Great Win for Powell.:dancingpa

How did the Evans' brothers play? -
Or the Lack of Offense. Maybe both. WOW, low scoring game either way. Is this the lowest game score of the season?

Looks like Cordia wasnt ready for JBS. How'd JBS look tonight? I'm sure they passed the ball tonight...since they won. I bet Cox had 20.

Breathitt wins this, handsdown. -
So JBS cancels the Hazard game. They're smart.

Can someone tell me why Jackson is considered in this pole, and not Powell?

Powell County Basketball
bballer1 replied to LadyBearMom's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
If Powell can get the win against Hazard, some respect may be flowing through the mountains down to Stanton. It will be tough but they are capable. -
JBS is a good team, but not when they play like this. I've seen more talent out of Breathitt, Lee, Powell, Hazard, and PCC than that of JBS. They're good, dont get me wrong, but I don't think they have more talent than those 5 teams. IMO in overall talent, im talking entire team, those 5 take it. JBS has really 2 outstanding players, in Clark Stepp and Cox, but it seems that Cox is being put out of the scoring rotation, better fix this JBS. There will be upsets come tourney time. As of now JBS can't be the favorite, they're declining.

Powell Vs. Hazard Predictions - Feb 9th

Cancelling the Buckhorn game was probably a good decision by the coaching staff, could of seen an upset there. Maybe that was sort of killing two birds with one stone. -
Powell Vs. Hazard Predictions - Feb 9th
bballer1 replied to bballer1's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Do you think Powell could contend in the 14th? We'll see in the next couple of weeks as they play Hazard and PCC. Should be good games. IMO the region is very wide spread and up for grabs. -
