  1. How would Breathitt match-up to teams like Lee, Powell, or JBS?
  2. Lee is coming off a 39 point win over an in district team, Owsley. The game is also in Beatyville which always favors the Bobcats. IMO Powell is playing very good basketball right now, although they havent had a game since Dec. 30, (Championship game of the Cougar Classic at LCC 103-58, Powell over Sheldon Clark.) Powell seems to have things going and are 2-0 in the district. I'll take Powell by 10. Powell won the last meeting in Stanton by 8, this would be a big win for the Pirates. Good luck both teams!
  3. Here is how I think it should look... 1. June Buchanan(10-3, only 3 losses, from 3 teams that have been in the top 15 in the state) 2. Breathitt(14-1, good record, 57-56 win over Hazard) 3. Hazard(10-3), wins over Shelby Valley, and Madison Central) 4. Powell(9-6, wins over Belfry, Cumberland, and Lee Co.) 5. Perry(8-4,wins over Knott and Leslie) 6. Lee(8-6,win over Estill, should be here from a 54-53 loss to 3-10 Wolfe) 7. Buckhorn(8-6, won the MHS tourney, and won 3 games in Florida) 8. Knott(3-7, 57-56 win over LCC, lost 7 in a row, but to some good teams) 9. Letcher Central(6-9, wins over Lee, and Leslie) 10. Estill(9-8, 9 point win over Leslie County) Cantrell's rankings, IMO are never accurate.
  4. 1. South Laurel 2. Shelby Valley 3. Bell Co. 4. Breathitt Co. 5. Paintsville 6. Hazard 7. June Buchanan 8. Clay Co. 9. Belfry 10. Powell Co.
  5. Very true. I just came by the wymt - boys - mountain top 10 and 4 of the 10 teams were from the 14th region. 1. South Laurel 2. Shelby Valley 3. Bell Co. 4. Breathitt Co. 5. Paintsville 6. Hazard 7. June Buchanan 8. Clay Co. 9. Belfry 10. Powell Co.
  6. I agree. Powell and JBS seemed to have the most overall talent, regardless of their records right now. I see one of the two taking the 14th this season.
  7. Hazard, Powell, Breathitt, or JBS. It's really a toss up.
  8. WOW!! This is a major shocker, i know it was at Wolfe, but Lee co. is a 20 point better team than Wolfe...at least. What happened here?
  9. How many pts. did Neeley have? How's he been doing?
  10. Saw this one coming. Good win for the dawgs. Seems that Knott caught Hicks on an "ON" night. Knott on the other hand are very scrappy and can play with anyone in the region.
  11. What is wrong with them that is making them play so poorly?
  12. Should be a good one. I'll take Powell - 5+, Powell seems to have the ball rolling right now and are on a 3 game win streak, and just recently won the Cougar Classic at Letcher County Central. (the cite of the regional tourney). Good luck to both teams! Can't wait for this one:banana: :ylsuper:
  13. Week 5: 12/29/06 Boys 1. South Laurel 2. Bell County 3. Shelby Valley 4. Hazard 5. Paintsville 6. Breathitt Co. 7. June Buchanan 8. Belfry 9. Clay Co. 10. Cumberland
  14. 1. JBS 2. Hazard 3. Powell 4. Breathitt 5. Perry Central 6. Lee 7. Knott Central 8. Estill 9. Letcher Central 10. Cordia
  15. That's unbelievable! If this is true..then can't we factor in Breathitt ..with JBS and Hazard for the regional title. (since everyone thinks one of the two will win it, hands down) If this is the same Breathitt team that i've seen in the past then there are many teams in the region that should be factored in. Powell and Lee IMO would have a good chance of beating Breathitt co.. Seems that the Region is shaping up to be another up for dibs season just like in previous years. IMO the Region could be won by 5 teams, no particular order. Breathitt, Powell, Hazard, JBS, Lee
  16. Wow! Is Hazard in a slump?, are they "overrated"? or is Breathitt highly underrated and alot better than what everyone thought? Breathitt played them in a close one earlier this season as well, lost by 2 i believe.
  17. The Pirates take the Whitaker bank Cougar Classic at LCC. Powell comes up with another good win. A win by 35 in a championship game isn't what i would've prodicted, but the Pirates seemed to come out of the gate, firing on all cylinders on defense and offense. Good luck with the rest of the season Powell...:dancingpa
  18. Cordia shouldnt of won the game from the start. Powell did however get out to a very poor start and Cordia was playing about as well as they could. Powell can't continue to come out flat anymore. If the Pirates come out ready against the same Cordia team, I don't see it being very close. Cordia as a very good team.
  19. Good win for Pirates, in a poor officiated game. Cordia lead the entire game until the 4th quarter, seems that Powell has some fight in them. Center, Ryan Romans came up with a steal in the final seconds of OT to put Powell up by 2. Good Win Pirates!!:dancingpa
  20. What happened to Leslie, or is Beechwood just that good?
