  1. I've heard about kinser, i had forgot about him...he also would be a good choice to be a starter...from what i know about Powell looks like there "starting" five won't be set all year. Any of the players are capable.
  2. When Owsley played Powell at PCC, i noticed Romans wasnt there, later heard he was playing baseball next door...I think he would have really helped them, (top 5 IMO)...also noticed #35 (Merriman?) and the Dennis kid were playing extremely well from the outside and showed good moves in the post. Banks really impressed me with his quickness and footwork around the basket. Havent seen much of kinser or overbee... I would put the Johnson boy or Skidmore at point, Dennis at the 2 guard, Merriman 3, Banks at PF, and Romans at Center, IMO...a good contender.
  3. Today the tournament starts at PCC...Buckhorn has been very strong, along with PCC...seems like Powell has been struggling somewhat, maybe getting used to Lively's style, should be a pretty good bracket to come watch.
  4. I'm not very familiar with this rule, but I don't see a problem with it, just because your team isnt involved in the game doesnt mean that you should'nt be able to tape it...You may play one of the two teams in a later meeting and the tape may be useful...anyone else's opinion --
  5. No, Ty Profitt is attending an individual basketball camp in Florida, he hasnt been playin at PCC this week...I'm going to go with Pc in 3 still, they seemed a bit nervous, but they should be...its been almost 30 years since they last won the 14th, i think they'll snap back tonight...Go 56th!!
  6. I heard through reliable sources that Tate Cox was infact transferring to PCC, his father is supposed to be accepting a coaching job as well...
  7. I'm not the coach...but i know that you can't cut the seniors when they've played the last 3 years...those cuts should have been made when they were freshmen...not now...by now they can all play though...any school would be lucky to have what Powell has, Lee co. also has a large senior class this year...
  8. This could be the previous coach's fault...you need to have experience in order to win...which means playing everyone, even for 10 seconds.
  9. Exactly, only 7 players played varsity only, the others played JV, you must feel threatened by this, I'm sorry, that leaves room on the Jv team for Many underclassmen...not on the varsity
  10. Powell in 3...who else can pitch for SL besides Smith, he's the ace right...with a good hitting team like Powell, SL better be 3-4 deep, i have to give Powell the slight advantage of playing at an in region school as well, that gives Powell fans from any of the schools in the 14th...
  11. Theres a Freshmen team, and a JV team...that sounds like MANY underclassmen to me...atleast 15-20 other players...
  12. They very well could win the region, but there are about 5 teams that could win it just as easy, it's really to early to tell...JBS is a good team, but powered by one player...if anyone can guard him and shut him down they can't win...
  13. I know a few of them...Romans, Johnson, Merriman, Skidmore, Pelfrey, Dennis, Sebey, there's 4 or 5 more... Lee co, also has a great Senior Class in Brandenburg, Fetters, Justin and Dustin Liesagang, couple more Estill has Berryman, Sewell Owsley - Neeley and Congleton
  14. You seem to know what you're talking about, also sound somewhat familiar with Powell... or maybe don't like them...a group of seniors never hurts a team, especially if they can all play...playing time should'nt be an option if they work hard every play, everyone needs a break.
  15. Not entirely, with seniors comes leadership, and many of the players at Powell have experience...Lee co. is another team with many seniors, Lee co. was a top 5 team last year as well and should be watched in the region...
  16. They are a very talented team...and come out of a loaded Region, many teams from the 14th could compete with So. Laurel such as, Leslie, Lee, or Perry... I think it will be a good series, I'm goin to take Powell... Post #3 - Don't think its fair to say that they're just happy to be there...Powell has been to region many years in a row and we're runners-up last year, they are also coming off a huge win in the 7th inning with 2 outs, they are a very good hitting team and south laurel should be prepared...they are'nt a pushover team
  17. Who is Craig Friel?? I don't recall a chase or a Craig who played for Powell:creepy: We should focus on the topic of the thread, not trying to get someones name known...:scared:
  18. Game started at 6, does anyone know who came out on top? Winner will face Powell co. from the 14th...
  19. All Players we're well picked, this was a great regional tournament to watch, and should be the same next year...
  20. I thought they had 11 seniors...i havent seen Skidmore play much, I remember him making the all district team last year in the 56th, but did he start?...I think he might of had the most points or something, don't think anyone really played that well in the district tournament for Powell, and who is this friel boy?...only players i've heard about through the grapevine are Romans, Dennis, Merriman, and a sophomore..kiser? There must be more talent at Powell than i anticipated.
  21. Powell has a few players that won't be attending due to Baseball Sectionals, shouldnt hurt them too bad though, who else will be up there next week?
  22. Powell 5 Leslie 4...Great game, won in the 7th inning with two outs!
