  1. This could be the previous coach's fault...you need to have experience in order to win...which means playing everyone, even for 10 seconds.
  2. Exactly, only 7 players played varsity only, the others played JV, you must feel threatened by this, I'm sorry, that leaves room on the Jv team for Many underclassmen...not on the varsity
  3. Powell in 3...who else can pitch for SL besides Smith, he's the ace right...with a good hitting team like Powell, SL better be 3-4 deep, i have to give Powell the slight advantage of playing at an in region school as well, that gives Powell fans from any of the schools in the 14th...
  4. Theres a Freshmen team, and a JV team...that sounds like MANY underclassmen to me...atleast 15-20 other players...
  5. They very well could win the region, but there are about 5 teams that could win it just as easy, it's really to early to tell...JBS is a good team, but powered by one player...if anyone can guard him and shut him down they can't win...
  6. I know a few of them...Romans, Johnson, Merriman, Skidmore, Pelfrey, Dennis, Sebey, there's 4 or 5 more... Lee co, also has a great Senior Class in Brandenburg, Fetters, Justin and Dustin Liesagang, couple more Estill has Berryman, Sewell Owsley - Neeley and Congleton
  7. You seem to know what you're talking about, also sound somewhat familiar with Powell... or maybe don't like them...a group of seniors never hurts a team, especially if they can all play...playing time should'nt be an option if they work hard every play, everyone needs a break.
  8. Not entirely, with seniors comes leadership, and many of the players at Powell have experience...Lee co. is another team with many seniors, Lee co. was a top 5 team last year as well and should be watched in the region...
  9. They are a very talented team...and come out of a loaded Region, many teams from the 14th could compete with So. Laurel such as, Leslie, Lee, or Perry... I think it will be a good series, I'm goin to take Powell... Post #3 - Don't think its fair to say that they're just happy to be there...Powell has been to region many years in a row and we're runners-up last year, they are also coming off a huge win in the 7th inning with 2 outs, they are a very good hitting team and south laurel should be prepared...they are'nt a pushover team

  12. All Players we're well picked, this was a great regional tournament to watch, and should be the same next year...

I thought they had 11 seniors...i havent seen Skidmore play much, I remember him making the all district team last year in the 56th, but did he start?...I think he might of had the most points or something, don't think anyone really played that well in the district tournament for Powell, and who is this friel boy?...only players i've heard about through the grapevine are Romans, Dennis, Merriman, and a sophomore..kiser? There must be more talent at Powell than i anticipated.
  14. Powell has a few players that won't be attending due to Baseball Sectionals, shouldnt hurt them too bad though, who else will be up there next week?

  17. Lee- lost Tyler Rich, Estill- lost Stuart Reece, Clinton Dixon, and Jesse Puckett, Owsley - lost Robert Smith, Powell - lost nobody...That's pretty much it for the 56th

I'm going to take Powell in this one, Morgan pitched tonight against Lee, so they'll have to give the ball to there #2...Powell has been hitting lasers all over the place lately and looked sharp in the field, and they also have the given home field advantage, looks like its going to be a good one, I'm looking forward to this one, should be a great Final...Powell 7 Leslie 4
  21. I heard there was a team camp, but i think they might just be calling it that to play games against one another...does anyone know who will be playing in this...I heard today that it starts next week, is this correct?
  22. Yea...its a little early but those look good, what about the berryman kid from Estill co? I think the list will possibly change after summer ball starts, there's always improvement from players who are just away from that top 10...Alot of players in the 14th have top 10 potential...
  23. Looks like a good matchup, PCC got the win against Powell in their last meeting, in Powell (4-3). In that game Powell's pitching wasn't as usual and their in-field looked shakey...Powell has looked very sharp in the last three games though and should be ready to hold off the Commodores, looking forward to the game!
