Wolfe County always does a good job when they host the district.

 

It looks like Breathitt and Wolfe will both make the region this year.

That's right, I wasn't thinking. Jackson is the host but they're using Wolfe's facility.

Will they be any upset's.

I got Wolfe and Breathitt. The 55th does a draw right.

Why would they go all the way to Wolfe to host a tournament that could be hosted right in Breathitt county? I think I would host it right in my own gym if I didn't want to use the rival Breathitt's gym. Sounds silly to me.

Neither Jackson City or Riverside can host in their home gym. Breathitt and Wolfe can. Riverside hosts at Breathitt so Jackson hosts at Wolfe. This keeps the district from being held in the same gym three out of four years.

I agree. I think Jackson should have the tournament in their own county. There are 3 schools in Breathitt Co. and one in Wolfe, so it should be in Breathitt Co. 3 times and Wolfe one. Is Wolfe even big enough to hold the huge crowd that Breathitt and Jackson will bring when they play. Probably around 3,000 in the first meeting at Breathitt.

Actually Jackson used Breathitt's Gym last time so they could have done so this time also but word is they felt like Wolfe would be a more neutral court if they drew Breathitt. They later worked out a deal with Breathitt, because of some of the reasons listed here instead, but the latest is the KHSAA won't change it back to Breathitt because of a signed deal with Wolf or something. Anything is possible so stay tuned.
