I was in Lex all day Thursday (actually just got back, gotta love a couple days in Lex) but I hear they had a nice lil 7 on 7 with East Carter. I really hate that I missed it too cause it sounded like the boys looked fine. I heard he had a different QB in there that was doing a good job. I wish Evans the best and hope everything I've heard about him being a fair honest man shows through in his coaching and that he makes his own decissions and sticks to em. Boyd needs a good strong coach that isn't afraid to do what's right for the team instead of what makes the parents feel good.

The Boyd Boys definately can hold their heads high, when the best teams meet up unfortunantely one has to go home early. This time it was us, But like everyone said the Lions have tons and tons to be proud of!

Thank God they've made it with what sounds like repairable injuries...... that's what's most important, those young lives are still with us.

that's what I heard too. They're "suppose" to make the announcement on Friday.

it's kinda mute point for us since we don't have one to worry about yet.

It's a good match up. Both teams just have to keep their game faces on and go at it. Not come into it thinking they've already got it.

There's bound to be a grant they could apply for out there to offset those fees if they make them mandatory.

And I think all school employees should have drug tests along with extensive background checks. When we were in Cocoa this spring the news there had a story running about a local janitor caught molesting little girls and he'd done it previously at another school! They hadn't done a background check! As for mandatory testing a coach for steroids, unless some of his kids tested positive for it I wouldn't bother with it. But if it's a team that several kids they found were on it, then yea I'd have to wonder about the coach too.

I'm all with you on this one and agree the testing should be for ALL drugs and alcohol. As for false positives, if your 100% sure your clean then you appeal it. If my kid tested positive don't think I wouldn't mind paying my own bills to get him into his dr for a complete test!

I think the weighted balls would just cause undo stress injuries on teens. They tend to over do and think they're invincible as it is.

From what I was told both McPeeks are supporting the same guy so I'm taking it to mean they don't want it at this time. Don't know about the Missouri one, IMO if he wasn't from around here originally then I'd have to be wonder'n why he's head'n so far outta town for a job.

I heard tonight after church that they'll be making the announcement on the 15th for the new head coach and that he has the backing of both of the McPeeks. Dang I do hate waiting!
