Haven't seen them all, but Corbin is the nicest I've seen.

Have seen both these teams play this year and Scott Co is not 35 points better than GRC. I'm sure it was just one of those nights. What Scott Co does have over a lot of teams is tremendous depth. It seemed like whoever they put in the game was basically a clone of the man they would take out. If I remember correctly, the majority of their top twelve were juniors too. When you're playing so many big games back to back days, you will get games like this where a team with Scott's depth will soundly defeat another very good team without as much depth simply because Scott can keep fresh legs in the game without a drop in talent.

I can still see that last second shot in my mind like it just happened. I think it's permanently etched in the brain.Great game, great shot! I also thought I'd never forget the kid's name but maybe I did. I thought it was TRAVIS Fryman. HC had sophomores Harney, Clark, Williams & seniors Erik Goetz, Brad Saalfeld. Corey Goetz played '94-'95.

1991 At Campbell Co Middle School Gym. Double overtime I think. Andre McClendon had to keep leaving the game due to cramping in his legs. Denny Hungler was sucker punched above his eye creating a golfball sized welt. He not only came back and played which totally inspired the crowd and his team, he also hit a couple huge free throws down the stretch with only one eye functioning! This game was more exciting than the 1993 finals for HC fans because of the outcome. The '93 finals have to be labled the "most depressing" vs the most exciting.

Holy Cross also has two- 1991 & 1994. Runner-up in 1989 & 1993

Congratulations to Coach Faust & the Crusaders not only on this game but on the season in general. They have now defeated the supposed top three teams in this region. I've seen all those teams and I really beleive St Henry has as good a chance as any of getting out of the ninth. It will all come down to who's hot in February.

Crusaders led throughout this game. They outplayed HC from start to finish. Jimmy Ryan had another sub par game- 2/12FG, 0/2 3PT for 4 total points. Corey Sorrell had his worst game of the year going 2/8FG, 1/4 3PT & 0/2FT for 5 total points. Indians & Coach Geotz need to regroup & finish the year strong. All their losses are to quality opponents, but they really need to win a few big games if they want to get out of the districts. This game was very disappointing for HC! They've defeated Holy Cross, Newport Catholic and Holmes thus far from the ninth region, plus ex ninth region team Simon Kenton.

GRC has owned the ninth region thus far this year. Maybe Dixie can put an end to their streak but it surely won't be easy.

The greatest memories I have are the HC/CCH games during the Colonels five year championship run from '67 to '71. They were always triple headers and you had to be in the gym before the JV game if you wanted a seat. The atmosphere beginning with the freshman game was always awesome! All three games would usually be hard fought down to the wire type games. When all was said and done, even the fans would be exhausted, especially at HC where it was probably close to 90 degrees inside. Throughout the Colonels incredible run, only one ninth region team managed to defeat them each of those years- Holy Cross. Unfortunately, never in the post season. I totally agree with "The Old Guy" when he says, "Man, those were the days"!

Just looked at the stats. HC is not going to win many big games when Jimmy Ryan goes 2/9 from the field and 0/6 from 3 point land for a total of 4 points.

Great job by the Colonels! Indians played them even in the first half but as I've said all year, the lack of depth caught up with them again. HC played 6 guys and by the half way mark of the 3rd quarter, they were exhausted. Corey Sorrell did have 15 points but he really wasn't on his game tonight probably due to the transfer thing. Jimmy Ryan played great defense on Jacobs but paid for it offensively, throwing up at least three air balls due to no legs. Giwa basically scored at will whenever he wanted to until they put Brown on him. Scruggs surely would have helped with the numbers thing but he didn't play at all. I think it was a team rules thing but I'm not sure. I know he's not injured though. CCH continues it's dominance over HC. HC needs to forget this game and focus on St. Henry in the All A Classic Tuesday night. The Bulldogs now loom in the district opener.

I can remember some getting in after the JV game started. It seems like they used a "window" of opportunity to enter!

Holmes- Riley, Avery, Johnson, Hill & Clark HC- Sorrell, Ryan, J. Sullivan, Eifert & Giwa

Henley coached a great game! He took the air out of the ball and made every possession paramount ala Clay Eifert. It was weird watching Holmes come out in a 2-3 zone and being super patient on offense. The roles were reversed, usually HC does that to offset Holmes superior talent. Tonight, Holmes did it to offset HC's superior talent since the suspensions. It nearly worked to perfection. It would have worked if not for Corey Sorrell. He was 6/10 on threes with 6 boards and three assists playing 36 minutes. I think he showed some people tonight that he's the real deal.He finished with 20 points. I was impressed with Austin Hill too. He finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds while also playing all 36 minutes. He didn't try to do too much and he let the guys around him play their games. I really wish the Bulldogs were at full strength and played their usual style vs the patient offense style. It would have been a classic shootout like we've seen in the past. Henley gave his shorthanded team a great chance to win the game and under the circumstances, that's all you can ask.

Troy was a very good player, but he wasn't a point guard. He was more of a shooting guard although he did run the point at times. I agree that Joe Harney was the best in the last 20 years. Barry Scott was also a very good player, but unfortunately he played when HC was in the NKIAC. It may not be fair to him, but it kinda waters all those points down a little bit. I know he would have loved to play the schedule they play now.

Yes. Saw them beat Holy Cross by one point because Joey Meier slipped on the floor on a wet spot near the bench after a timeout. He lost the ball and a chance to win the game. One neat thing I remember about that team was that their coach ( a VERY big man), brought a huge living room easy chair into the gym to sit on while coaching the game. One of the funniest things I've ever seen!

Beal graduated in 1980, Schlomer and Wimzie both graduated in 1978! If you could put the '78 and '90 teams together, you'd have a team that would definitely play with HHS.

Definitely balanced scoring for HC. One of their strengths this year is that you really can't key on one or two players. They have 5 players who are capabale of double digit scoring night in night out. On the flip side, they also only have 7 or so players who are able to play competively in the big games. Depth may hurt them in a tournament situation like the All A or the State, if they are fortunate enough to reach one or the other.

Yes, HC defeated Ryle 62-36. Should be a good game tonight. HC was able to rest their starters a little due to the margin. That and home court advantage with alumni night should give them a slight advantage.

NCC has also had a lot of very good coaches over the years, but I would think Jim Connor would have to be their best ever.

Holy Cross has had many very good coaches over the years including Ralph Kemphaus, Jeff Trame & Clay Eifert. However, the best ever at HC without a doubt is George Schneider!
