St. Henry 50 Holy Cross 37

Impressive!

Details?

Another game where I am surprised at the margin?? The 'Cru with wins over the CCH, Holmes and HC; arguably the top 3 teams in the 9th, but a couple questionable losses?? Are they now the top seed in the 9th?? Hard to argue against them!!

Crusaders led throughout this game. They outplayed HC from start to finish. Jimmy Ryan had another sub par game- 2/12FG, 0/2 3PT for 4 total points. Corey Sorrell had his worst game of the year going 2/8FG, 1/4 3PT & 0/2FT for 5 total points.

Indians & Coach Geotz need to regroup & finish the year strong. All their losses are to quality opponents, but they really need to win a few big games if they want to get out of the districts. This game was very disappointing for HC!

St Henry- Griffin 7, Felthaus 2, Kuebbing 2, Ives 2, Garnick 5, Strahlendorf 11, Lenhof 15 & Rechtin 6.

Holy Cross- Sorrell 5, Ryan 4, Sullivan 5, Scruggs 8, Giwa 8 & Eifert 7

Good to see Jordan Griffin doing well.

Was this the Championship game?

Congratulations to Coach Faust & the Crusaders not only on this game but on the season in general. They have now defeated the supposed top three teams in this region. I've seen all those teams and I really beleive St Henry has as good a chance as any of getting out of the ninth. It will all come down to who's hot in February.

Was this the Championship game?

Maybe, but NCC will probably have something to say about that??

Good game by the Crusaders, but they seriously could have won even bigger. They made some dumb mistakes and missed some easy shots. But a win is win and in this case its a big one. Here's some points:

-Matt Strahlendorf is turing into the most underrated player in the Region. He has basically been good for at least 10pts 8 rbs for the last month. The boy can flat out shoot from the outside, ask Holy Cross.

-St. Henry has won the 35th district, (supposably the toughest) but can't be a top 2 team in their own 33rd. Figure that one out?

-St. Henry can go as deep as CCH. 9 deep. 9 Seniors.

-Sr. Gaurd, John Hughes hasn't been in the box score very much for St. Henry, but his defense and leadership is a big part of why they are winning.

-I would have to question Coach Goetz and his gameplan tonight. Once the zone wasn't working, why not get out of it. St. Henry seemed to love that they were dictating exactly what Holy Cross was doing.

-I know they have to take care of business against Beechwood first, but how in the world will St. Henry shut down Zack Keirnan???? He might go for 40, but St. Henry might still win.

-LAST NOTE: WHAT A HUSSLE PLAY BY TYLER FELTHAUS IN 4th QUARTER? HE MIGHT NOT HAVE SAVED THE BALL BUT THANK GOD HE'S O.K. WHAT A NASTY SPILL!!!!

Not suprised by the outcome but the final score suprises me a bit.

HC seems to be coming out flat in big games. Not good.

I originally picked Holy Cross to win the 9th All A, but I will give credit when deserving and St. Henry deserves it. Very good win and it looks like St. Henry is in the drivers seat to win it now. I am sure some people will say what about NewCath, but let's face it, NewCath is not very good and really only has one good player in Kiernan.

HC seems to be 2-dimensional and if you take those 2 guys out of the game nobody else seems to step up. Add in the fact that they are not deep, they are becoming one of the most disapointing teams as the season winds down.

Congrats to the Cru on a big win. They seem very solid and have a good coach in Faust. I see them making a run at the All A state title possibly.

St. Henry vs. probably Beechwood should be a good one Fri. night.

Not from what I hear. Beechwood lost one of its leading scorers in Kyle Mitts to an injury. Knowing Kyle personally I feel bad for him because I believe he also had a bad injury during the football season.

Other than that I think Nate Hall is the leading scorer, but St. Henry won't have much trouble shutting him down. Look for a blow out.

But NCC does worry me. I know for a fact Detzel, Dawn and the Pangallos have been scouting St. Henry hard. They play a much more effective zone than the one HC played last night.

Either way St. Henry or NCC will be winning the all A for the 10th consecutive season.

I attended this game and St. Henry dominated from the opening tip. Congrats to the Crusaders on a big win.

SHDHS and NCC will be a very good final. Have to give the edge to the Cru.

Their guard play is much better and they defend very well. Also, you have to give the edge to Coach Faust in a big time game like this.

CRU 58

NCC 49
