I believe the unsung hero for Boone County has to be Andrew Brown. He did a great job on both ends of the floor. He is a kid that doesn't get much attention but does a lot of the dirty work for this team.

If Wellbrock were to score 40 it would match his season total. They don't run much for Wellbrock he gets what he gets by cleaning up missed shots. -

Why was Ryan Popp not starting? Injury? Discipline? Change? He couldn't have played 5 minutes tonight. Very surprised to see him not playing more. -

Way to many top notch coahes in this region to list McQueary in the top 5. He would not be in the top ten in this region. -

You mentioned scouts. Who is Riley being recruited by? Offers? I would have to think his size would be a huge issue. I know a couple of years Mike Hester really had trouble with offers because of his size. I thought Holmes was a much better team with Riley on the floor last year. Nice player. -
How did the Remy Abell kid play? I heard he is a very good young player.

You have to let Mikey play and create. He is a nice player and a very unselfish player and could really help this team get to the next level. He is being held back by this coaching staff and for the third straight year his confidence has been crushed. -

Could not agree more. Coach Carr does a fantastic job at Scott. Very good coach. He knows what he wants to do and teaches it every day. You know exactly what you are going to get from Coach Carr. -

Again, there is NO philosophy and NO style. One week they are shooting a ton of threes, the next they are wanting to pitch inside, the next they are pressing, the next they are playing slow down, etc.. Create a system, teach the system, tweek the system, execute the system... -

Earls is not the same type of player that Kiernan was. Kiernan was more of a bruiser. Zack had very few post moves to create offense. Most of his points were on second chances and running the floor to get easy baskets. Zack never got outworked and was a heck of a leader. Earls is not as aggressive as Zack was but has much better offensive skills. I think that Boone needs to use him more at the 4 and play him with Trevon Brown. Gabbard Popp McFarland Earls Brown -

This team has not been together for a while. I think that the coaches, players and parents will tell you that this team has not been together for the past couple of years. I don't believe they will ever be on the same page again. The players have lost faith in the coaching staff a long time ago. This team can not execute the plan because there is no plan!! The biggest part of coaching is the ability to bring players together, manage egos and get everything going in the proper direction and that has not happened at Boone. -

Guyn and Cosby will be nice additions. Very good players! I have seen Barner play 4 or 5 times this year and have been very dissapointed in his play. -

I hope that the Highlands faithful are not unhappy with Willie. I agree with you that he is one of the top 3 coaches in this area. I don't have a dog in the fight but if I had a son playing high school basketball I would love for him to play for Willie. -

I hope that Johnsons/Pittman go out with a bang this summer. I would love to see them play in some of the top tourneys this summer and get deep into the tournaments and compete against some of the top players in the country. I agree with you that they will not be able to do that with their current team. No leadership and lack of depth. Although I would love to see the class of 2010 in Northern Kentucky play together this summer I hope that the Holmes players are able to play with top notch talent. I was told last week that they will be playing with Queen City Prophets. I saw the Queen City Prophets staff over at Lloyd talking with them and watching them play. They usually have some pretty good talent that would really help them compete and play at a HIGH level. Should be fun. -

Not from me!! I have been the one that said all along that their schedule is soft and they beat the teams that they should beat. The win games early in the season when very little scouting has been done. When the coaches in this region get an opportunity to scout Boone they are able to put a game plan together that Boone can not adjust to. This team has NEVER won because of the coaching. I need to go back and look but I bet if you look at the scores from the last three years they have won very few close games (1 to 3 point games). -

So you don't think a lot of that has to do with them playing along side some of Kentucky's finest? Perfect example is their play against the Holmes boys. (Pittman, Johnson Brothers). They beat them on the AAU circuit but in HS got ran out of the gym last year. The Johnson brothers and Pittman are better players than the Boone players with out a doubt. But that is a perfect example of what I am talking about. The coaching that the Holmes kids receive in the summer (AAU) is very, very poor. Coach Henley has a game plan and has put these individuals in a position to succeed. Coach Henley has a plan. He and his coaching staff are very prepared and understand how to make adjustments. That in turn helps these very talented individuals be successful. -

Is the coaching staff not a part of the team??? I do believe Highlands is the better team but a lot of that has to do with the coaching staff. The coaching staff is a big part of the team. I don't believe that Highlands has better talent. In my opinion the talent is better at Boone than it is at Highlands. But as we all know talent doesn't always win. Highlands team is better because they have good talent and a very good coaching staff that prepares them to be successful. -

I didn't mean to imply that Highlands is not better than Boone. I believe that Highlands is a better team than Boone. I love what Kowolonek brings to the table. I also believe that Willie is one of the top coaches in the region. He does a great job and understands how to prepare his teams. But you can't deny the fact that Boone continues to look un-prepared and unable to make adjustments. With each of the top coaches in this region they all seem to have a style of play that they teach year in and year out. Boone's style of play changes from week to week. I truly believe that if the two coaches in last nights game exchange players that Willie wins 9 out of 10 games no matter which team he is coaching. -

How can anyone be suprised by this score? If you have been watching Boone County play the last three years you should have seen this coming. Coach Schlarman made a great move by going to the sagging zone to take away Earls and McFarland. It was obvious that Boone's game plan was to pound it inside. Nice coaching Willie!! I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Boone locker room at half time. Does the coaching staff have a clue???? At no point did Boone try to adjust and try something different. It was obvious that Willie was not going to allow Boone to pound the ball inside. Boone will continue to loose games against the top teams in this region because they are very predictable and are unable to adjust during a game. -

Corey Pelle put the same type of numbers up at Silver Grove two years ago. The difference is that Corey Pelle was one of the top defenders in the state, played above the rim at times and shot 59% from the field for the year. Blake is at 44%??? Not very effecient. -
