I just found out that Kentucky Elite is ran out of Sportsville in Florence Kentucky. They do a decent job of running some local tournaments and allow a lot of younger teams to have somewhere to play. These teams were formed to populate the BCI tournaments in Florence. These teams will not travel to any of the top notch tournaments in this area. BCI tournaments are not going to allow a player to recieve exposure or get him in front of college coaches. If a players wants to be with an elite orginization they need to look at programs such as Derek Smith, Shining Star Sports, etc...

Who in the world is KY Elite? How will they provide exposure?

Simple, without Sorrell they are a very average team.

Loosing Maile doesn't but loosing Bondick, Roll, Shmerge, Noll, Maile and Klein do.

Micah Pugh went over to play at Thomas Moore but injured his foot and is having surgery. Don't know if he will be returning to the team or not.

I would love to see the Scott County stats and see what Richie shot from behind the arc. I watched him play about a dozen times this summer and don't remember him stepping behind the arc and shooting the three. Richie is a very good player but I don't think that I would put him in the catagory of a shooter.

If you think Richie is a better shooter than Dakotah then you haven't watched these guys play. Richie has range to about 12 feet. Dakotah has range to about 30 feet. Dakotah can flat out stroke the ball.

What is the players name? How big?

I don't think that there was a 6'7" kid in the Boone County system that was considered a good AAU player. 6'7" kids that can play don't transfer without everyone knowing about it.

I think that Shina is at his best when the game is moving up and down the floor. He is very quick and can really make things happen in space. If this team is not able to play at a quick pace I believe they will really struggle this year.

Where every he decides to go he will be a nice addition. I believe that CJ still has a ton of upside and will continue to grow as a player. The kid plays with such confidence. Good Luck CJ!!

Why did they not play with the KY Players?

Why did we not see Pittman and Johnson on the AAU circuit at the end of the year? I know they played with the KY Players but was very suprised not to see them at the NCAA events this year.

How many teams are holding off on getting started? I know that Covington Catholic usually doesn't get started until the first week of November. Any other teams delay the start of practice?

Boone and Ryle are not in a position to beat Holmes this year. Holmes is without a doubt the most talented team in the 9th region. Boone's coach should/is on the hotseat because of his prior 3 years of service. You can't compete with Holmes if you never make it out of your district tournament. I am also not sold that Ryle has had a ton of talent over the past couple of years. I think they have had decent talent pool but not enough to think that they should have been competing for a regional championship.

I love Elliot County but doubt that they are going to have the depth to win a state championship. But they sure are fun to watch play.

You can keep telling yourself that but you know as well as I do that Boone will not play well down the stretch. The coach doesn't know how to prepare them to do so and the players know that. The players don't believe in the staff and the system that they are put into. Until there is a change at the top they will continue to be pretenders. You know as well as I do the last two years the season was over well before the district tournament began.

Boone County's Head Coach should be on the hot seat. He has failed to get a district tourney win with better talent than anyone in the district for the last three years. I am suprised that he has lasted this long.:sleep::confused:

I don't know where everyone got the idea that Thelan was a jumpshooter. He is a power forward with the ability to step out and make a midrange shot from time to time. I would not consider him to be a jumpshooter by any stretch of the imagination. With that being said, I really like Jakes game. Big body tough to handle, nice touch around the basket. Very talented scorer and good rebounder.

Vance Hall had a very good summer and I look forward to him having a nice junior year. I think everyone will be very impressed with this young man.

Phillip Barner Jr. is the god son of the individual making the list. Not suprised to see him on the list.

You can count on Boone County being one of the better teams in December and January. They do not have the leadership that will get them ready to play when it counts. Boone will play well early but they will fade fast in February and March.

Jake Thelan can try all he wants to play the 3. He is not going to be quick enough to get it done. He will be a 4 or 5 at the high school level. Will never play the 3 in college.
