9th Region sophomores
Trevan Brown and Jake Geisler will both be varsity contributors this year. Trevan will benefit from playing with Andy Earls who is one of the better established big men in the ninth. Andy real showed that he is able to step out on the floor this summer and shoot the 3. Trevan will give them a rebounding machine and allow Andy to step to the perimeter and play some facing the basket. Trevan's challenge is going to be for him to expand on his game. He is a bit undersized to play the post and doesn't have the ball skills or ability to shoot the jumpshot to step out on the floor. If Trevan is able to add a mid range game in the next couple of seasons he will be a nice player. Trevan is a a human vacum cleaner on the backboard. He takes up a lot of space and is relentless. He is a very high energy player and is very much a team player. Jake will probably be a varsity starter and will log a lot of minutes at NCC. He is another big man that has some pretty nice perimeter skills. He shoots the 3 real well and can face the basket and score. As Jake becomes stronger and is able to shed the last of the baby fat he will blossom into one of the better players in the ninth in the next couple of years.

Cooper 2008/2009
They will not be able to compete in this region for at least 2 to 3 years. This is a total rebuilding job and will take a lot of patience. Who will they have on their roster this year with any varsity or J.V. experience?

Get the ball to the twins!! Kyle and Luke had a fantastic summer and I anticipate that they will have a fantastic sophomore year.

9th Region sophomores
I agree. Jake will get an opportunity to see some good varsity minutes. He needs to get better on the defensive end. Very good around the basket with a nice touch from the perimeter. Has never seen as shot that he doesn't like!!

9th Region sophomores
I agree. Matt has a very good feel for the game. True point guard.

9th Region sophomores
Jake Geisler at NCC will get a lot of varsity minutes. Jake is a big boy with some very good perimiter skills. Jake can really shoot the ball from outside of the arc and can also catch and attack off of the bounce. As Jake continues to get stronger he will become one of the better big boys in the ninth region.

Top 10 Players in the 9th
Grant Pengallo is the better of the three. He had a fantastic summer and really worked a great deal on his jump shot. He shot the ball very well all summer. He is a very confident young man and will have a fantastic junior year.

Top 10 Players in the 9th
I really like Shina Giwa but he is going to stuggle this year. Not to much talent around him. He is going to have to try to do way to much. Good player on a below average team.

Top 10 Players in the 9th
He played on the Shining Star Sports-McFarland team this past summer. They were the 16u State Champions. Tate had to deal with a foot injury for a part of the summer but when he was playing he was tough to deal with. He is a big, big boy. He may be the biggest and strongest player in the ninth region. I know that he is being recruited pretty heavy for football. I also believe that he could earn a scholorship for basketball if it was his focus. I can't say enough about Tate. Great student, great player, great kid!!

What class is Brandon Tucker in? What position?

Top 10 Players in the 9th
You have to include Andy Earls and Mike Gabbard in a list with the top players in the 9th region. I believe that Steven Kowolonek is going to be one of the top five players in the region this year.

Best Point Guard in the state?
Gabbard and Popp deserve the love. These two have had a fantastic summer!!

Holmes 2008/2009
I think that the key to there season will be Riley. I think he is a very talented player and should shine being the number one point guard. He will give them a solid shooter and keep defenders honest. I felt he was the better point guard last year and should have seen more time. It will be interesting to see how he handles being the number one point guard.

Northern Kentucky DIII Preseason POY
I think that Blake Bryan is probably the top DIII player at this point. If Romes stays healthy I think that he will have a monster senior year.

Kentucky teams traveling in July
I don't think that any of the elite programs in Kentucky pay for everything, do they?

Kentucky teams traveling in July
I was told that they played in Orlando with the Queen City Prophets. As I have stated before I would love to see this class in Northern Kentucky get together and play next summer. It would be very exciting to see.

I was told last night that Rico Johnson, JJ Johnson and Elijiah Pittman are now playing with the Queen City Prophets. Anyone know if this is correct?

Kentucky teams traveling in July
The Shining Star Sports team won the state championship with their current roster. Adding Rico Johnson, JJ Johnson and Elijiah Pittman would allow them to compete at a much higher level. This team would be very fun to watch and they would win a lot of games. With a nucleus of Northern Kentucky players it would also allow them to be in the gym on the regular basis working together to prepare for the very challenging schedule that they would play.

Kentucky teams traveling in July
Rico and Pittman have been sought after for a couple of years now. I know that Shining Star Sports went after them but they did not want to leave the KY Players. If this class in Northern Kentucky could come together they would be the top team in Kentucky.

Kentucky teams traveling in July
Is there no one out there that has any idea what the KY Players did in July? I love watching Rico and Pittman play but have heard nothing about what they have been doing. Any info?

Where have the KY Players been? They have two of the best playes in Northern Kentucky in Rico Johnson and Elijiah Pittman. Have they been playing in any big events? How have they been doing?
