I would think a field or working out a deal with Campbell County would be in Brossart's best interest. Tough to have 3 home fields in school history. Let's face it, being in 1A would benefit, but tough to argue how much when Bellevue isn't on the schedule & back to back losses to Dayton. Good luck, starting a program is tough, building & maintaining one is even tougher.

I thought that this game would end up being a rivalry game. Both programs began varsity football the same year (i believe). The first year Coach Barth took over at Walton this was a very intense game with Brossart winning. Since then it seems the two teams have gone in different directions, or at least the Walton program has progressed considerably. Congrats Bearcats, keep it rolling!

I watched this young man for the last 3 years and he made great improvement each year. He is D1 caliber, D1AA worst case scenario. Hopefully Walton makes a playoff run & his abilities are showcased on a brighter stage.

Walton has a few guys back from injury and the new look offense is rolling. The evolution of a season is fun to watch. Walton is getting better and better. Nice job guys.

Hopefully the Bearcats used the bye week to heal up & regroup mentally. A couple tough lessons early in the season, learn from it and move forward. Based on scores and records, I'd say the district is wide open in a four team race. Friday's winner is in good shape, the loser is on the outside looking in. I say Walton in a close one.

I am taking Walton in this game. Walton plays well up front & they do have some speed in skill positions.

Nice bounce back victory for the Bearcats, dominated on both sides of the ball. Big test Friday vs. Lloyd, shouldn't be tough to get up for this matchup.

The Bearcats defense dominated the game. Offensively Walton had a few bright spots, but willl need to cut down on the mistakes. Not sure what to say about the punt team, nearly cost them the game. That's why scrimmages with dummy special teams doesn't give a true indicator. I'm sure the staff will make the proper adjustments. All said, big week 1 win with a stiffer test next week at Henry County.

The Bearcats stumbled out of the gate last year against the Tigers. Bellevue is always physical and gritty. Walton with need to match intensity & execute. I expect a defensive struggle with the Bearcats on top.

Walton's defense looked fast, aggressive, and very strong up front. The offense picked it up after an ugly first series. The Bearcats will face a much stiffer test Friday against Bellevue.

Foley had a great 2011, 6 INTs only tells part of the story. He was also one of the Bearcats leading tacklers after the LBs. Not sure what his measurements, reps, or 40 time is, but I think he could play NAIA / D3 level for sure.

The big man is impressive, anchored the D-line as a sophomore and went both ways last season. I hear he has been working hard in the weight room, and expects to turn some heads for his senior campaign.

Walton-Verona will have to retool after losing their backfield. They should be solid up front, and I would expect #16 & #39 to fill in well in the backfield, both got several carries last year. #71 Mosier should anchor the O-line and D-Line. Not sure who will be taking over the QB spot, which is always a concern, but I am sure someone will rise up and take the reigns. I know they tinkered with the shot-gun last year, anxious to see if they stay under center or go to the gun. Losing #2 at linebacker will hurt, but I think most return from a very strong defense. I expect the D to carry them early while the offense gets up to speed.

I agree. The line was a major concern going into last season, replacing all 5 starters from a very productive offense in 2010. The group came together well after a rough opener at Bellevue, averaging well over 300 yds a game and close to 30 pts a game, which unfortunately included 2 shut-out losses. I believe all but one are back from last year's group, which should bode well for another exciting season for the Bearcats.

Walton-Verona finished second or third in the state in Class 2A in points allowed last year, and 2 of the 3 games they lost they were shut-out. Losing #2 at Linebacker will be a big void, but I believe most of their starting defense is back, inlcuding the big 6'6" 300 lbs. DT #71, LB #16 who made tons of plays, and DB #8 who lead NKY in interceptions. Coach Shafer and his defensive staff have done great work with the Bearcat defense.

Duffy NEVER cut anyone from a football team. Duffy demanded a lot. I know a Navy Seal who said Duffy's Triple Sessions during the summer made Seal training seem easy. Duffy had a loyal group of coaches and had very little turnover. Duffy wanted things run his way. I am not saying this is a good way to run a program, I don't believe it is, but those are the facts. The numbers were down for the football team due to the fact if you weren't going to see the field. Why as a 15, 16 or 17 year kid would you put yourself through all of that? Put on top he was a social leper. Working kids hard is all in the delivery. SEE Dale Mueller.

The Last Don showed up on the Bellevue, Owen County and Lloyd threads after Walton lost this year. He likes to get his digs in. He does have an agenda. Coach Barth has his coaching staff where he wants it to be now. Some get a little sour over that. Maybe Last Don should apply at Dixie. I'm sure he'd do a fine job.

Coach Barth would do a great job at Dixie, BUT I do not seeing him leaving a great situation at Walton. Coach Barth is extremely happy with his coaching staff, administration and parents. I do not see him leaving for Dixie, or any other job in the near future. Now, if a job would open where a team from Campbell County who wears blue and white, then all bets are off. I don't see that happening for many years to come. The Birds have a legend currently coaching and his loyal D Coordinator likely will be his deserving successor.

You have not watched Walton much this year. You play to your personnel. Walton average over 400 yards per game on the ground since week 1 and was quite successful, including a dominate performance over Lloyd early. Lloyd executed this time and Walton didn't, good for Lloyd.

Owen will win this game. Owen is big, physical, disciplined and has some good skill players. I believe it is #22 for Owen, he is a very, very good player.

Highlands by a few touchdowns. I assume McCoy will start. It will be about the same with or without PT, especially McCoy getting reps in practice all week. McCoy is very good.

Walton should win this one handily. They will play better than last week. I look for Walton to clean up the turnovers from last week and run, run, run on Brossart. Walton wins 41-7.

Walton had over 400 yards on the ground and had the ball about 39 out of 48 minutes of the game. No big homeruns for the Walton offense, just sustained drives. Defense again played well.
