Mercer / Danville / Jessamine scrimmage
I don't have a dog in the fight, but the way I see it Mercer was in the 3-4th qu while Danville had a 1.5 hour nap while Mercer played WJ. Another thing, being a small school has NOTHING to do with it. If Danville wins the big trophy in December vs 1-A schools there will be plenty of talk about how Danville could compete with/beat the bigger schools. When you are a state power, you do not hide behind smoke and mirrors and make excuses. I was surprised that the titans were able to stay on the same field with Danville. First of all, considering mercer 2 platoons i dont see it as danville being more fresh. Think about it. Their players played at least twice as many plays as mercer co. thier previous game and in their game. Thats one more scrimmage worth of plays. To say that size of a team doesnt matter is idiotic. Especially a good team that can stay fresh such as mercer. Who is to say that Danville couldnt compete. They always do! But to say they can beat every big school in the state would be a reach also. They can contend, but numbers play a role. Thats why there are classifications. Next year mercer will be at least 4A. No one is hiding. They will play St. X in the parking lot. I wasnt surprised that mercer would be able to hang in the first place. The ads moved the ball well also and played nice D. They were down a couple key defensive players as well. Danville is still Danville. I will go out on a limb and say the Ads will be 10-0 when the playoffs hit. Mercer could be too.

Mercer / Danville / Jessamine scrimmage
they made their statement. they made their statement by outscoring an opposition that 2 platoons. The players for the ads go both ways and play special teams. Their 1/3 of your size and the mighty Titans mustard up a 1 point loss. Hip Hip Hooray! I know this was a game played by a very motivated mercer county team. And why not? They have only been terrible for how long? This was a great oppurtunity for your squad, but.... Seriously, i wish you guys the best. Coach Jaggers is awesome. He will take you guys places you only dreamed about before. Im just glad it turned out the way it did, because we all know that if Mercer won then everyone in Mercer Co. would have talked it up. I know its a scrimmage. I could care less about the score, because when it comes to analyzing an opponent and scheming what they do by putting your own players in positions to succeed week in and week out, Harp is the man. Scrimmages tell how your players will respond in competition. Mercer responded. Good for them! An actual game compared to a scrimmage is a little different. Good luck Titans. Smack the Rebels around!

Mercer / Danville / Jessamine scrimmage
nah, my last memory was the final score.

Mercer / Danville / Jessamine scrimmage
or you could start a thread about how mercer hasnt allowed an offensive touchdown, but still managed to lose the scrimmage to a team that's a third the size of yours. lol

Mercer / Danville / Jessamine scrimmage
the ads did have a touchdown reception called back, and a first down inside the 10 called back to make it 4th down b/c of only six men on the line of scrimmage. could have been 21

Danville vs. Southwestern, week 1
danville by 3, maybe 4 td's.

Danville 28 Harrison County 7 (Scrimmage)
i thought danville scored 5 times. Harrison scored once only on the JV. Danville needs to take care of the ball.

All-KY Baseball Team "nominations"
there is not another player in the state that had the kind of year that Rich Witten had from Danville. He hit .607, close to 70 RBIs, 13-1 pitching, and 25 BOMBS!

Wide Recievers to watch out for in '06
the kid is young and raw, but he can be trouble for anyone because he goes up high for the ball with both hands and has good ball skills. He is a 6'5 210 soon to be sophmoore. Leonard Macon at Danville is a D1 prospect in the near future. The kid will be a 6'8 240 pound TE in about 3 years fellas.

Sam Harp
base it on any one of the three and you have a solid case.

What teams will be in the final four in in 1A in 06?
im sure he needs to get tougher, no question. Almost all freshman do. Just growing into and being able to control his body will help, and that comes with maturity. Knowing how to play the game is an issue with all freshman.

Danville is going to be fast this year. Have heard Daylon Harris has another gear this year. He ran a 4.3 something at the Centre combine. Cant say he is that, but he is a legit 4.4. Leonard Macon could be tough to deal with as well. 6'5 205 pound soon to be sophmore WR. This kid might have the tools to play somewhere. He is still growing. Runs well.

Zach Kiernan/UL???
not that uncommon for a 16 or seventeen year old kid. Especially one that is 6'7. his body has not caught up with him yet. His bench could increase by 100 pounds as a freshman in college on maturity alone. What you look for when watching offensive lineman and trying to project them to the next level is their size, attitude (do they like contact), are they a knee bender or a waist bender, and do they stay off of the ground. The latter is important. It means they have the necessary feet and flexibility. Strength will come.

Winningest Teams in Kentucky since 2000!
Danville is landlocked. If someone moves into the area most of the time they go to Boyle county b/c that is where the new developements are located. Thats why Danvilles enrollment is slowly decreasing and Boyles is increasing.

- Would you rather your favorite team be good in basketball, football or something else
when you say kentucky is a basketball state i slightly disagree. Kentucky is a basketball state b/c of all the tradition at the university. But, it's not like we produce alot of basketball talent. I think that the state is more passionate about high school football, at least it is where i am from. I bet that if you took a census of the state of KY and asked them if they would rather be the winningest football or basketball program in college that more would lean towards football. Especially since we are in the SEC. Who really cares about being the big dog in the SEC in basketball. Football in the south is king. I think that football is a bigger passion across the whole country. What holds more weight to you? Being the national champ in basketball or football? Around the country UK would have more respect if it won the title in football. Only because it is the best game ever invented. - Would you rather your favorite team be good in basketball, football or something else
