Let's have an All-KY High School Baseball Team and take nominations from the members.

 

Here's my suggestion on a format. Have two (2) teams, complete with all position players (LF, CF, RF, 3B, SS, 2B, 1B, C) and 1 RH Pitcher, along with 1 LH Pitcher. Name a Head Coach and nominate one of the players on either team, as Player of the Year.

 

Take nominations for each position and coach. Vote until next Friday June 16th and post after the Championship Game.

 

List two names at each position: Limit to current 2006 Seniors. Put player name, high school and college attending (if known)

Player of the Year -

I'll second the nomination for Apollo's Jake Wells. This season he had a .422 avg, .611 ob%, 5 hr, 30 rbi, and only struck out twice all season. In addition he is an excellent fielder. He was named 3rd region player of the year by the local media.

This one is tough. Strike3, the nominations you made I will second. But would add:

 

Brandon Smith (Knott Central) - C. He batted .446, scored 22 runs, had 24 RBI's, had a .523 SLG and a .522 OBP. On defense he threw out 20 runners in 36 attempts.

 

Quinten Morgan (Leslie County signed with Morehead)- RHP. I don't have any stats but he pitched some great games and his bat was just as strong.

 

Caleb Hall (Knott Central signed with Alice Lloyd College) -1B. Caleb batted .367, scored 28 runs, and had 25 RBI's. He also had a SLG of .443 and an .485 OBP.

3b- I will be a homer (but deservingly so) and say Chris Curley. Stats as of May 15th (thats the best I could find). .583- Avg 11 doubles 3 triples 13 HR 53 RBI 45 runs scored.
