For those interested, the Northern Kentucky Coaches Association has a new website. This site has a breakdown of every game that every team in the association plays, weekly features on happenings around NKY, and even a weekly page highlighting performances of the past that happened on the same week. Not sure on this, but I do know that Coach Reese won a state title at Ludlow in 1975 and then moved on to win two with the Greyhounds.

Ludlow actually has 42 kids on this year's team, the Maxpreps roster is incorrect.

Anyone in place that could take over? Have they started practice yet? What kind of numbers were they having?

It is just seniors. I believe it will be the second week of June this year, probably the 12th...it was a week earlier last year but got pushed back due to schools having late release dates due to snow days. I'll post more details if I hear any.

Just to clarify, KEES money is the money kids get as a scholarship for GPA and ACT scores from the state...you guys are discussing SEEK money.

The two teams are irrelevant, you could pick numerous scenarios to say that someone should beat someone based off of common opponents...the point is it is tough to gauge teams and their chances to win or even compete based on that. For example, Scott Co beats Male 24-10, Male beats Meade Co 41-12...Meade should not be able to be competetive let alone come a late fumble away from possibly beating Scott Co, right? My point has nothing to do with which teams are actually better, my point is how poor of a gauge score comparing can be.

The point was that the scores were about even...the point of the post was regarding how difficult it is comparing teams by comparing scores.

It is difficult to play the comparing scores game with any certainty. NCC and Beechwood were essentially even this year. Mayfield beat the team that knocked Beechwood out of the playoffs by 4 touchdowns. I don't necessarily disagree with you, but you can usually manipulate the scores to prove whatever point you want to make.

And yes, I realize that the award is called "Top 26" but that is not the intent of the award.

This is an award designed first and foremost to recognize a student from every school. It is not meant to be the 26 best overall players. There are years that about 4 NKY schools would be recognized if this were the case.

The reason the clock does not go back to normal if a team gets back under 36 is because teams would then make sure they racked up 50 or 60 before they put in their reserves so that they didn't risk losing the running clock with the backups in...which would totally defeat the purpose of the running clock "blowout rule".

Consider how voting takes place as well...I don't know if this is how it is done in all districts, but that particular district I'm pretty sure the coaches don't vote for themselves or their players. If the vote came down between a Ludlow kid and a Bellevue kid then the Beechwood and Dayton coaches went off of what they personally saw. Ackerson had a fantastic year for Bellevue, as did Huff, Stephenson, Hazeras and others...they were fun to watch on offense and the way Hazeras, especially, played on defense was nothing short of great.

Personally I've enjoyed it when I have been there. I have gotten some sort of Goetta sandwich that was very good and also some sort of bacon grilled cheese that I enjoyed. The best thing I have ever had there, though they did not have it the last time I went, was their blue cheese chilli. Sounds gross, but the blue cheese added a nice creaminess and tang to their chilli.

The first few games of the season Bracken ran a 4 wide spread offense. #15, the QB at the time (he was replaced by 8 the last game I saw, not sure what happened) is a very good thrower but they had a lot of trouble completing passes. Thus I believe they went with the bunch formation to attempt the old 4 yards and a cloud of dust routine!

Pendleton does a great job with their atmosphere for the games. Collages, I'm assuming for all of the senior football players, on display by the concession stand. Music constantly playing and a neat fundraiser going on with the local police "arresting" people and making them raise funds to get out of "jail"! #'s 14 and 22 are really hard runners for Brossart and 14 threw the ball better than I have seen him throw it in 3 live games this year (sorry I'm really poor with names). Pendleton plays hard and gets to the ball. Props to both teams on an enjoyable game!

This game is being played October 11th...Ludlow has a bye this week and Dayton is playing a school from Ohio at Dayton.
