Beechwood 49 Bracken County 0

Featured Replies

Final

Good job Beechwood keeping the score in check.

Incredible stat of the night - Bracken County had two tackles in the first half. One tackle by the defense. One tackle on a punt return. Beechwood led 41-0 and had the running clock with 6 minutes left in the second quarter.

I will have more game details in a little bit.

Here are the game details. Beechwood ran 5 offensive plays in the first half.

1. First offensive play of the game - Kyle Fieger 43 yard TD pass to Ethan Stringer; Miles Sletto XP; 7-0 8:17 to go in first quarter

2. Fieger pass to Carter Burns for about 15 yards.

3. Next play - Joe Studer 29 yard TD run; Sletto XP; 14-0 5:44 left in first quarter

4. Fieger 41 yard TD pass to Jalen Hayden; Sletto XP; 21-0 1:20 in 1st quarter

5. Fieger 60 yard TD pass to Max Shover; Sletto XP 34-0 8:21 in 2nd quarter

In between plays 4 and 5, Joe Studer had an 86 yard punt return for a TD. Then, with 6:03 to go in the 2nd quarter, Ryan Bankemper intercepted a pass and returned it 43 yards for a TD. That made the score 41-0 and we had a running clock from that point on.

Beechwood's JV played the third quarter and scored a TD - Colton Kinman scoring on a 1 yard run. The snap on the extra point was off target so the holder, Casey Erdman grabbed the ball and threw a 2 point conversion pass to Clay McHugh.

Early in the fourth quarter, Beechwood's freshmen took over and played the rest of the game.

Here are a couple other weird stats. One, at one point in the second half, Beechwood and Bracken County were even at 6 first downs each, but the score was 41-0. Two, time of possession was ridiculously lopsided in favor of Bracken County but the score was lopsided in favor of Beechwood.

Here is another thing that happened which you don't see very often, if ever. At halftime, Beechwood came out of the locker room early and ran 40 yard sprints. Because of the way the game went and the early running clock, I guess they wanted to get some conditioning work in.

And yet there's nothing wrong with the playoff system, according to some. :ohbrother:

Eye, is Beechwood heating up at the right time or is this not the game to make that determination?

Whats wrong with it?

Exhibit A of why #1 seed should have a BYE and # 2 seed play # 3 seed.

No way to tell from this game. The first team ran 5 plays. Beechwood's skill players did what they have been doing. The QB and receivers are excellent. The line play is what will determine how far Beechwood goes.

Thanks Eye.

Tell that to Dunbar tonight and see what they say.

There just isn't much to say about this one for the Tigers. Total domination. Fieger threw a couple nice balls. Studer was impressive.

Bracken County sure runs a strange offense. They are all bunched up as tight as can be and run dives and off tackle power plays non stop. They played hard all night. The QB had a couple nice hard runs. The good news is no one was injured. Moving on to next week.

This.

I'll tell you why... Not even the Bracken Parents wanted to be there. I counted exactly 31 Bracken County fans. That's not even 2 fans per player. There were more Cheerleaders, Coaches and players on the sideline than there were fans in the stands.

That was the worst Football team I have ever seen play Varsity Football. Sorry to any Bracken County fans/players, but it is the the cold hard truth.

Funny  Last week the sky was falling, this week they are heating up at the right time :lol2:

It's 2-9 Bracken County, you might gain some insight on how the frosh are looking and thats it
