Should the "Running Clock Rule" not be enforced for the playoffs?

Yes. If you don't want a team to get a running clock don't give up 36......I repeat.......36 points unanswered. That's what triggers the clock. If you give up 36 unanswered points in the state semis then that tells us all we need to know.

Could you image the scores some of the 1st round games, if not for a running clock!

But it seems it doesn't. You wouldn't think that LexCath would turn around to get 28 unanswered.

I don't think there should be an exception for playoff games, but I do think it should go back to 45 points to start the clock.

No Running Clock in the playoffs. No mercy!

I think the running clock should start in the second half.

Wait... so the clock keeps running once the margin hits 36, regardless? So in theory, a team could come all the way back to take the lead, then the team that initially got the clock running would be behind while the clock still ran?

You can't change the rules for the playoffs. While I think 36 is to low if you're going to have a mercy rule in the regular season then absolutely it should carry to the playoffs.

Correct

Triple digits.

Correct

That makes no sense at all.

I think the spirit of the rule is to prevent blowouts, so you'd think that the clock would begin operating normally again once the margin was back under the initial threshold.

That would be the common sense thing to do in my opinion.

We are talking about the KHSAA here....

That makes no sense at all.

I agree. Doesn't make any sense to me why when it gets under 36 pts it doesn't revert back to a normal game clock.

I said it was to low. Tonight showed it.

Either turn it off after dropping back or raise to 40 or 42.
