I think next year what these players need to be asking is 'Who is going to be the leaders on next year's team?' Anyone can say they are a leader but it takes a special person to have others say that you are a leader. Not only will Ashland lose some talented players that worked hard but they are losing some exceptional leaders.

The line is the key any year. You have to give Ian credit for his outstanding work ethic but don't overlook the fact that several of these linemen worked very hard last year as well and I believe were right there with Ian's level. Although there is always room for improvement.

Sounds to be an exciting game, but with this game being in Lexington on the turf I have to give the advantage to Lex Cath.

I do believe this game will be a little bit closer than 2 td's.

Both teams have a solid roll going on, but I give the mental edge to Belfry.

I don't know that much about Darrell but have seen him play alittle to know that if he develops and matures he has enough talent to lead these Cats to another good year. Whether he does or not depends on his work ethic and the comradarie amongst all of the incoming senior class to lead each other along with the underclassmen to a stage of development that will make this next Tomcat team one of the great ones. There is alot of talent in this incoming senior class and underclassmen and all they need now is true leadership. And that is something that is truly.................earned........off the field.

This is the way it should be. No kid should be guaranteed his position because of last seasons performance. As a coach you would have to expect a kid who performed well the year before to play at the same level or better preferrably at the start of the new year but a kid has to start earning his position in the off season (weightlifting, spring practice) if he expects to be in the starting lineup come spring practice. I'm sure Ashland's coaching staff has some ideas on what they would like to happen but will be waiting to see what happens over this crucial time of development in the off season and are prepared to take action with several different scenarios should some players develop or not develop.

I know in 1990 Ashland did not defeat a NKY team in the semi's but did go on to defeat rather easily a Lincoln Co. team for the state 3A Championship.

I will say that I too listened to the game on the radio. It was extremely hard trying to tell what was going on. That radio crew needs help.

I guess the NKY flair is gone this year.

A classy coach being successful at what he's doing.

Looks to be an intriguing matchup with Burke and Rock's D, which has played real well the last couple of weeks. The are not strange to passing attack offenses and may surprise some people.

I look for Belfry to keep their string alive.

Now, are the deserving of the All Area team? Most definitely, as are a few other Tomcats.

All of these players had great years and contributed alot. But to say they were deserving of MVP honors is stretching it a bit, with the exception of Holbrook of course, and maybe ...maybe Gurule. Holbrook in my opinion is Ashland's representative for this award, hands down.
