Final

This game went about as expected although it was very close for a half. Rockcastle had some nice looking lineman and probably could have kept it closer if they hadn't tried to pass as much as they did. LexCath couldn't seem to hold them when they ran it up the middle. But they didn't really concentrate on the running game until they were down by 2 tds. Justin Burke was his usual superb self. Shane Israel got a lot of total yards. The Rockcastle crowd was one of the louder groups to come to Ford stadium. Looking forward to the battle between the irresistable force and the immoveable object next week.

How did Rockastle's QB do this game?

Despite the numerous mistakes made by both sides tonight, but both teams played with with plenty of spirit and managed enough big plays to keep it a great game to watch. Rockcastle had a great running game and certainly had the momentum going into the half. Unfortunately, they lost it in the third quarter. LexCath came up with a couple of interceptions and also seemed to be able to score whenever and from wherever they wanted to.

 

Rockcastle also seemed to be a little worn out later in the second half and the Knights never stopped scoring.

 

The Rockcastle fans were great and turned out in large numbers.

Rock played as hard as we could. We were just out matched by numbers. I mean we had 40 players dressed while Catholic had over 80. We also played 10 players both ways. Thanks to our fans for showing up and supporting us. Burke is a good QB and should do well in college. I just wonder how Coach Sphire would do with the Rock team. Its is a shame that the few fans outside the stadium talegaiting were all smart mouths and made everyone else lok bad. We look forward to playing you next year on a real field. GRASS

First congratulations to Lexington Cath, lots of speed out there tonight. Secondly hats off to a Rockcastle team that played there guts out.I only saw 12 or 13 players on the field that played offense and defense, you guys a really something. Teams should take notice of how hard you guys really play.

Catholic may dress a lot of guys but only about 30-40 guys get a great amount of playtime. Can you at least congratulate the Knights on a great win? Rockcastle played hard last night and had success on O but defensively they were completely overmatched. Their line play on O was definately a plus for them and if they are young than next year will be a good year.

 

Were all the fans tailgating outside the stadium smartmouths? Cause I was out in that group and I don't believe I said one word to the Rockcastle team or fans walking past us and I know a good amount of other people who did the same. By the way, I wouldn't really call your all's field a real GRASS field, from my days playing on it and word from past playoffs, its more MUD.

This game was great to watch, I saw the St. X game earlier this year and now this one and I have to say that the Knights definately have improved over the period of time. Burke didn't miss often on his passes and his worst throw he looked like he slipped or lost a handle on the ball because the throw was a definite wobbler coming out of his hands. What was impressive in the game was that some little known recievers had huge games. Alex Currie had two TD receptions and Patrick Schwendeman had a real nice TD reception late. Shane Israel also has the great combination of speed and ability to see the holes that makes him very dangerous.

 

The D didn't suprise me tonight, they struggled against a power run early, made adjustments, made the stops late, and when the pass came they stopped it more often than not. They did get burned on one play but definately guarded the pass well most the night.

 

The Rock team held strong early but just couldn't continue to run with the Knights for four quarters. Still a congrats should be given to them on a great season despite injuries. Good luck to them next year, sounds like they should have a good team coming back.
