I think anything less than a five or six touchdown win by Russell will mean they didn't have their 'A' game.

I'm going to agree with T Cat 72 on this one. Ashland......has some talented players.......but are trying to find their identity right now. With the loss of a key player and leader from last year in Ian Holbrook it will take time to adjust. In a few weeks they will be a much better team. I do believe that this game will in no way be a blow out as some one here say, and I think Ashland can win, if they make some strides in their improvement and play like they are capable of playing.

Ashland will improve by next week and come district play, I guarantee you that. I was disappointed with the times in the red zone where the offense didn't score but I still feel that the play calling changed from inside (where it was working well in the second half) to trying to run outside ( where it wasn't) I'm not so sure that the O-line was the only to blame. But I do agree that when you get first down inside the 10 you have to score. Give the Rams some credit for that though.

I'm not sure that's what Ashland needs to do or not, but I definitely believe Thomas would be better used as a receiver.

Congrats to the Rams. Just got back from a long evening. I thought Ashland had their chances but couldn't pull them out. I felt like after the first half the Cats needed to grind it out and they did just that on the opening drive. But several times later in the second half I felt like there was some questionable play calling. Ashland just could not run outside. The special teams and mistakes are what really hurt Ashland with the fumbles and the punt coverage or lack of. There will need to be some real soul searching for these kids but this loss is not the end of the season. With the loss of Bonner the Cats secondary and defense was really hurt.

All kidding aside, you all have a great person who I believe will be a great coach to get you all going places. But truthfully, the Lion nation has been a little quiet this preseason.

I was wondering if the reason a lot of people in the area that didn't like Putnam Stadium was maybe because on their visits their team had an unpleasant experience or two.

I have heard he has had this problem most of his life and it ran in the family.

Can't wait to see the field this Friday. The men who work every week on it do a great job.:thumb: I was hoping to see the injured back in the lineup. Let's just hope they will be well sooner than later.

Welcome Trimmer308, I Hope that the injured will be able to start playing before then but if not the Cats do have people that will step in and give a good effort. It is hard to work on cohesiveness with people out but they will be OK. It is looking to be an exciting game come Friday night and I'm sure a good Raceland team will come to play. .
