It is ironic what a loss can do for a good team.

I thought I saw #75 in and out some also and maybe 40 or 41.

It was hard to tell at first at the angle I was at, but after looking at where it hit in the trees I believed it was a couple of feet wide.

Let's hope his injury is not serious and he's able to return to play in a short time.

I'll bet the Johnson Central fans were shaking their heads on that one.

I noticed that after that injury, it looked like Russell was rotating alot of players in and out on the D-line. It looked like 3 or 4 different players.

I hope the Ashland faithful and especially the players don't get overconfident because of the outcome of last years game. Portsmouth West will definitely come ready to play to make amends for last years game. The Cats definitely need to cut down on the mistakes ( fumbles, dropped balls, missed blocks) to keep the improvement going forward and to beat this next opponent and they have to come ready to play. I know Ashland has beaten two quality opponents and lost to one of the best Raceland teams in years but they still need to do more than just show up now. They need focus, emotion and most of all quality execution. So let's not overlook this Portsmouth team and get down to business, and that is the business of winning.

Russell will bounce back big and let all of their frustrations out on the poor Lions.

Now the Cats must get ready for a Ports. West team that took a bad beating by Ashland last year. Celebrate tonight and tomorrow and come out ready to go on Monday.

Great game if your'e a Tomcat fan. I felt like this was a great game for Matt Thomas, none like he's had before at Ashland. He indeed was running hard but it also seemed like alot of the times it was 4 or 5 yards or more before even the first defender would meet him. That makes it a little easier to run hard, so I do believe this is the best the O-line has looked in the last 2 or 3 years at least at running the ball. I do feel that IMO Ashland dominated the the line offensively more than I thought they would and had the Cats not stumbled w/ turnovers this game wouldn't have been this close. Now I was especially proud of how this team didn't quit when they were down by 2 touchdowns and continued to fight back. I do believe that the Kiwanis Bowl a few years back gave these seniors something to look back on and realize that they could win this game. Anyway I'm sure Russell will bounce back and be a force again this year in the playoffs. Great game Cats and let's keep the improvement going.
