TomcatChick41 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Here we go. The biggest non-district game for each of these teams. These games are always close with a big crowd and great atmosphere. The Tomcats should be filled with confidence heading into this one. Were due.. Ashland 24 Russell 20

That is the only team that Russell lost to. Ashland will be big although. No prediction from me. I'm 0 for 2 in predicting Ashland games. Lets get through it with no injuries for both teams. One thing for certain the best team will win. Yes the best team will win....
Guest kybigguy42 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 hmmmmm......this is a tough one for me. I feel like a UK basketball fan picking between Louisville and Indiana. I am hoping for a tie.

JC Alumni 76 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 To me this game is hard to pick. Russell i feel is still yet unproven with a win over a weak opponent in Greenup Co. while Ashland took out a top 2A program tonight in Belfry. This game is going to be close and with games like these you have to give the edge to the home team. With that being said Ill take Ashland in a close one. My prediction: Ashland: 21 Russell: 20
Frances Bavier Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I think Leon Hart and the Ashland coaching staff have made some key moves in personnel, and have the Tomcats going in the right direction. I like the fact that we just beat a sound Belfry team, coached by a legend. I think we'll continue to get better as the season progresses. All of that said, we now face another coaching legend, with an even stronger team. Clark is (in my opinion) one of the best backs Russell has ever had - and that's covering some ground. He is definitely one of the top three backs in the state this year - if not THE best. Having a strong candidate for Mr. Football in your backfield has to make Russell the team to beat in this one. Put a good line in front of him, and I think the Devils have to be the favorites. I love the Tomcats, and I know we're at home, but speaking from my head and not my heart, I think Russell wins this one by a final score of 28 - 14. Frances PS - please keep in mind that I have never gotten a prediction right yet...
