Week #1. I must say Im feeling a little better about my Tomcats after their performance against Ironton. Im looking forward to seeing Mahan play an entire game. Scott Grizzle is a really good player but I dont know if Raceland has anything else.

I'd say Raceland will be a little better this year and Ashland will take some time to gel with the new QB but when it's all said and done, the result will still be the same...Ashland will win...

Better? I think the loss of Thomas Tolliver will be HUGE for Raceland.

Raceland’s fans are saying this is their best team in a decade. That is saying something. Raceland has beaten the Tomcats in the last decade. If I’m not mistaken the last time Raceland beat Ashland was during coach Hall’s second year – about the fall of 2000 (one of you younger fans please help an old man remember the date).

 

Ashland has struggled to find their identity so far. Questions about who the QB will be, injured linemen, and other issues have kept the team a little out of step, IMO. After Saturday night’s scrimmage with Ironton I think the team will start to come together nicely.

 

I’ve got to go with the Tomcats pulling away in the second half – by 2 TDs.

Raceland beat Ashland in Larry Hall's first game, I think that was '99 or 2000. In that game Raceland made a long drive late to win, I think it was like a 7-6 or 14-13 score.

Ashland , to much skill , speed , size and numbers ..... If Raceland shows up and out hits Ashland they have a chance to overcome.

Again, You have not seen Raceland. The Beach kid from Greenup transfered to Raceland. Grizzle has gotten bigger and better and so has Beach. I believe Raceland has a great chance of beating Ashland this year. A GREAT chance.

I look for this game to be close for most of the game but I believe the Cats will pull away later in the game. Ashland will just have too many horses for Raceland to keep up. Ashland 28-14
