I know that im the new kid on the block, but come on!Every year Raceland does this. They talk about new transfers and how much better they have been following their previous season. This is no competition. Ashland 38 Raceland 6

Raceland doesn't get many transfers at all, much less enough to make a case for a better team. The team is as good as it is, because of the boys that have all played together since JFL...anyone else is just icing on the cake.

And that "never say die" mentality is something inherent with every Raceland team I have had the pleasure of watching. Last year, the Rams never stopped playing hard, even when the game was getting out of reach, Raceland kept it interesting. This game will not be a cakewalk for whoever comes out on top...Raceland knows what it's like to come into Putnam and win.

:thumb: Nice post Painter. Thanks for the compliments. We also know what it is to come into Putnam and lose as we are well aware what Ashland has to bring. It should be a great game.

Thanks for the compliment Painter and I echo cvilles comments on Ashland, should be a good ball game, Raceland is well aware of the Ashland tradition and playing their home opener at Putnam.

:thumb: :thumb: Well said cville, only I don't think they are sleeping. Like I said, we know all too well what we are in for Friday night at Putnam. All of this "metro Boyd Co. area" bull is just that:p (at least that is what I told my Dr. today when I was there, he is an Ashland alum and was down playing Ashland this year.) the Tomcats will be ready and they have a fine team.

You are right Oldrambler. Coach Hart will have his players in the right frame of mind and I guarantee we better be ready. I think the footballs will fill the air at Putnam. D backs will get a workout.

Thanks for the greeting cvillecat, and by the way yes i have seen (1) team scrimmage(i play for Ashland) haha so yea, im trying to give my unbiased opinion on Ashland, i believe that we will have a succesful year as well as beating Raceland in our season opener. We have GREAT depth this year i every position. At our QB position Darrell mahan can make some serious plays, but it seems that Coach Hart is still making his decision on who to play Darrell or Drew...so thats going to be tough, Drew was doing great blocking in the wide out spot, as well as making some great catches at the ironton-ashland scrimmage, where Ashland 1st string gave up one touchdown and produced a touchdown as well as kicking some field goals(we played 10 plays each side) and kicked freely. Theres some information regaurding Ashland squad.

Ok im saying that every year they talk about a few transfers as well as how much improved their squad is, and every year it is the same result, thats all im trying to say, oh yea and an example of a transfer getting recognition from Raceland is Derrick Beach from Greenup.

This sounds to be a very exciting game as long as us fans were to play it. I believe that this will be a good game for the first quarter. Ashland will then take over and score at will. Now don't get me wrong I would love to see Raceland upset the mighty TomCat nation only because I love upsets. I just don't see it happening in week one of football. Good luck to both teams.

You are right it is immature...to put something like that on a website. I found it so i posted it, there.

Very immature and uncalled for. I believe that if we dug around we could find stuff like that about ashland fans/players but does that give us a reason to post it here? I think not.

All players think they are going to win. It's part of their drive. If they thought they were going to lose then they don't have the mindset to play the game. I am speaking from experience. My son played for a local school and graduated last year. All I heard was how tough they were and how they were gonna win. Well guess what....They did.

But that's part of the game. No reason to bring stuff like that into BGP.

I apologize for my previous posts, you are right midee1.
