  1. From Corbin, .... Game was stopped with lightning delay. Top of the 7th, score tied 2-2, NL batting in the top of the 7th with 2 outs. Will be continued tonight (6-4). Looks like another real barnburner between these two!!!
  2. Clay finished the postseason very strong. Congrats to the Tigers!
  3. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/Bud-Selig-must-overrule-call-that-wiped-out-perfect-game-060210?GT1=39002 I agree with this take on the matter. IMHO, they should overturn the call.
  4. Good points. I thought McWhorter did a very good job with a young team in putting together a very solid season with a tough schedule. It may have been his best coaching job (2nd only to the job he did in the 2007 postseason when NL won the region and the first game of the semi-state vs Greenup County with a sub .500 team). I also think that Ledington did a very good job for the Hounds in his first season.
  5. I did not realize that the only other centerfielder to have 10 or more Golden Glove awards AND hit over 500 HRs was Mays. Junior hit well over 600 HRs. He is one of the all time greats and deservedly will be a first ballot HOF selection.
  6. The only way that Clay could get Wright is to make him a very SWEET deal. He has a good deal at SL, but if Clay makes an even better offer, I am not sure what South could offer. Wright already has the best deal of any coach in any sport for either of the Laurel County schools. I don't see it happening, but I have been wrong before.
  7. Solid season for the Jags, but it is tough to beat a team 3 times in one season. Congrats to the Redhounds on earning their spot in the regional finals.
  8. It was a bad call, Joyce apologized to Gallaraga for the call. Gallaraga was very classy about it as was his manager Jim Leyland. Officials do make mistakes, that is the human element. Joyce, according to all reports I am hearing is a terrific ump and good guy did the right think in admitting that he made a mistake and apologizing. IMHO, this is actually good for baseball. To see a pitcher who is slighted from what he earned handle it with class and an ump admit that he made a mistake is a good moral lesson. With that being said, I think the right thing to do would be to reverse the call and award Gallaraga what he rightfully deserves, a perfect game. It had no impact on the end result of the game.
  9. I went with the Joe Satriani Mo Joe pickup in the bridge on my Schecter. VERY nice!!! Smooth tone, great harmonics, I love it!!!
  10. I think they had an episode of Ghost Hunters from there. Pretty wild stories in the past of that place. Another is Waverly Hills Sanitarium in L'ville. I have been once, pretty eery. My wife has been twice. We have been on the 2 hour tours, but the 4 hour and all nights book up so fast, we haven't been able to get one of the later, longer tours.
  11. I guess I can ask you as well, .... caught doing what?
  12. That's my understanding as well. My son had to sign a paper to allow his high school and EKU to release their information to SCC.
  13. If you love a good college basketball program, you will have haters. On here it is more 'en vogue' to rip UK since there are more UK fans on BGP. Fine by me. The fact that a Duke fan feels the need to start this thread about how we are all jealous of Duke, ... TWICE, says it all. Oh how it does entertain me!!! KEEP IT UP!!! :thumb:
  14. Coach Roy Bowling. Old Roy won 4 state titles at Laurel County, went to Mercy for a few years than retired. Came out of retirement a few years ago and is coaching in Laurel County at North Laurel. Has rebuilt the program into being a competitive team the past few years. He brought Rex Fredericks, his long time assistant at Laurel Co and former NL head coach, out of retirement to coach along side him. I think he will retire for the final time in the next few years, but seems to still be enjoying it.
  15. UK was not even in the hunt for Bledsoe when this allegedly happened. It will be interesting to see what happens. You can rest assured that the public will blame Calipari for this IF it turns out there was any funny business. Maybe major universities need to start hiring PI's to investigate every kid's potential eligibility issues as the high schools don't always do it and the NCAA is tremendous at finding out after the fact. GT was all over this last year, ... gotta give him his credit for raising the red flag even then.
  16. To date: Kobe and Shaq have 4 titles each. 3 together, and 1 each apart. Given the way it looks right now, Kobe has a chance to potentially add some more to his trophy case. While it was not the best short termed move, ... who knows if the Lakers could have won another title or 2, .... in the long term, it worked out well for all involved.
  17. As an actual 'player', I was just thinking about McCarty. But I guess there is two!!!
  18. I guess turnabout's fair play, ... after all there is a Cat on the Cardinal sidelines ......
  19. I agree 100%. I don't know what happened, but if pushed, I can't blame him. I have always heard good things about him.
  20. I just don't like to see marriages end up in divorce.
  21. One is a freshman the other a sophomore. Goons? Really? They are big and still very young. Boys that age need more time to develop their coordination with their bodies. If you can predict how a 7' frosh/soph will develop, then you really ought to be getting paid for your scouting expertise. But you may want to leave terms like 'goons' only for kids you have actually seen or know. While they may be undeveloped to date, ... apparently a few big name schools see the potential that may be there.
  22. The coaches that most consider to be the 'greats' all stayed at one place for a LONG time. Wooden, Rupp, Smith, Coach K, Knight, etc. Their names and legacies go hand in hand with the team they coached for all those years. By staying with a program, it also enhances the chances of winning titles (and all the above I believe have multiple titles).
  23. Because Coach K has never left Duke but has been rumored to have other suitors on numerous occasions. On his own, Cal left UMass and Memphis. However, on Mike and Mike, Greenburg says that after talking face to face with Coach Cal, he is convinced he is not leaving UK.
