Scott in 2008 will have to have more kids come out and play football because they had such a large senior class this year there numbers will be low if only the kids return from last years team. Scott will open up its schedule in 2008 with a game against Walton Verona which I believe will be its 1st Varsity game ever. Walton will take the place of Anderson County from this years schedule.

Guys let's nip it in the bud now. I have talked to a very reliable source close to the situation and no Coach has been hired. The committee hasn't even been formed yet to go over the applications and no interviews haven't been given. The reason I meant no Bellevue Coach was I think we need someone with head coaching experience not to slight the Assistant from Bellevue I just worded it wrong. In closing I would not look for a new coach to be hired at Scott until sometime in Jan.

Scott definately doesn't need an assistant from Bellevue to be its new head coach. Like I said before they better make a big splash with this Coach. It all starts at the Junior High level they need the kids to come to Scott that are supposed to period.

Free throw percentage is way up even though it is still early. Last year I went to alot of Scott games and the foul shooting was horrible at times , especially in the Brossart game. Sharp couldn't make a free throw hardly at all, I know this happens to everyone at times but if was the go to guy last year especially in that game he didn't produce the way he was supposed to at the line. Getting back to this season Scott is young with only 3 Seniors on the team, they will get better as the season progresses. This years team seems to be working hard on the floor to learn from Coach Carr who I believe is one of the best coaches in NKY.

I am glad to hear that because for Scott to go a long way this year they need Adams to be ready to pitch and to be on top of his game. I think the key for this year will be Taylor Smith and Nick Hiller being able to help the pitching staff because after Adkins,Adams and Murray as starters they will need to turn to these guys for help. Fite I believe will be best if used out of the bulpen like last year he gives you a solid 2 to 3 innings but don't believe he can give you 4 to 5 innings like a starter should.

Whatever was wrong with Adams he still has to prove it on the mound at Varsity Level. I would personally say Adams throws in the low 80"s at best, if he has gotten stronger he might of increased his speed a little. Adams problem is he gets down on himself to much if things don't go his way on the mound or at the plate which in turn hurts the team. He must remember he is a Senior this year and has the most seniority of all the Seniors and must show some leadership and quit worrying about his stats. Remember baseball is a team sport and there is no I in team!!!!!!

Scott football is not over, I will say it again football brings in the money for the school by far more than any other sport. They do have more bills to pay to keep it going more than any other sport but the program will survive this Coaching change. I think Coach Fisk did a tremendous job for the program he was well liked by the kids and the parents. Casey will survive this change and continue on with his life and hopefully down the road he might get an opportunity to Coach again somewhere. Casey was a class act and will be missed by all especially some of the parents whom he became good friends with.

You are right Highlands probably does have some of the worst facilities in the State other than their football complex not much else to brag about when it comes to facilities. The weight room however I would bet Scott's is lots worse I am close to the program and have witnessed the poor weightroom facilities at Scott especially at the Eagles Nest where the football team works out. They hardly have any machines at all mostly have to use free weights. I think both schools need much needed up grades facility wise.

I think 5a district will be a 2 horse race between Cov Cath and Highlands and probably will be for a while. Dixie loses to much talent to contend with either of these 2 teams. Scott looking for new head coach and loses over 50 percent of their team to graduation, will be young an inexperienced next year. Holmes loses alot of offensive weapons especially at quarterback and wide receiver. I do believe with open enrollment Dixie might contend again within 2 to 3 years. Simon Kenton will be the top team in the Kenton County School System for the next 3 or 4 years.

I agree the planning could be for the future. I think it all starts with the feeder programs especially Woodland where Scott gets the bulk of their football players. Woodland this year I believe didn't win a game and it just trickles down from there. Scott at the Freshmen level didn't win a game and Scott at the JV level didn't win a game. The seniors on this years team were Freshmen under Coach Riegler at Scott when he was the varsity coach. I believe the new coach at Scott must be able to put the coaching staff of his choosing at Woodland and they should try to run everything the way he wants to run the high school program. Scott will be very inexperienced at the Varsity level next year because of all the Seniors they lost this year, but a new coach might be able to come in and start running things his way and the younger kids might catch on very quickly.

Scott really needs to make a big splash with the next Coach they hire. Especially after letting Coach Fisk go because he was a players Coach and all the kids liked him. I know when new administrators come into a school they want to try to turn around a program that might not be producing, but Scott did make the playoffs and won 4 games this year which very easily they could have won 6 but things happen in life all in all it was a good year for Scott football they showed improvement. In closing I guess what I am saying is Scott's administration needs to step up to the plate and get a Coach with experience as a long term assistant or another head coach from somewhere. We don't need someone with no experience we need someone who has been through it all and wants the challenge of coaching at Scott. Remember football brings in the most money of any sport at Scott and probably spends the most so the administration might have to pay a little extra to get a Coach with the experience that Scott needs.

I agree with you 100 percent Sandman on this. I am very close to the Scott program and I hear it alot about talent walking the hallways and not playing football. The reason they probably don't play football is they can't hack it plain and simple, the practices the weights the running and all that comes with being a football player for any school. They just use the excuse well the program isn't very good so why should I waste my time. Excuses and if ands and buts be a man and play football if you think you can hack it.:fight::fight:

People who don't play football should not cast stones on the football program especially when you don't know what you are talking about. I believ Dixie lost to 1a Beechwood this year and also lost to Holmes a team Scott beat easily. Just remember any team can be beaten on any given day. I know I went to a summer baseball AABC game and watched the Kentucky Colonels who was supposed to be the best team in the area lose to the Bluegrass Chiefs this year so what is your reply to that ?

I will take Holmes in this game because I think Holmes will want to prove something to their ex head coach who I believe is the head coach at Conner now. Holmes has to much speed for Conner but if Conner can contain Holmes quarterback Miller than I think they might have a chance.

Come on guys let's not go there about how a 5a school should always beat a little 3a school. We all know that means nothing, look at how little 1a Beechwood handles bigger schools. I was just making a committ to the person who said looks like our starters will be out after the first half. I don't know what was meant by that and maybe I am taking the wrong way, so let's just play the game and see what happens and hope neither team has an injury because both teams are headed for the playoffs.

Henry County's starters only play a half, I hope that is because of the longer than usual trip and they might be to tired. I sure wouldn't want to believe you think their going to come into Scott on Senior Night and be up by so much at halftime that they take out their starters. Scott lays down for no one, you shouldn't push this issue too much because when you try to corner an Eagle you can get clawed by the Talons.

Scott might start off a little slow but Coach Carr will have them ready to compete as the season progresses. This years team will surprise some people. I think Adkins will be the floor general and everything will run through him. I just hope we finally get to see Baker play and see if he lives up to all the hype. Scott did lose alot of offense from last years team but I think this group this year will play team oriented ball more. Good luck Eagles on your season!!!!!!

Simon Kenton will be fine this year especially in the district they play in, should win district every year no matter how much talent they lose each year. To me their season comes down to guard play, can anyone replace Hester and run the team. I think Ponzer and Slavey could be the front runners for this leadership role but only time will tell. Dixie will win at home on Senior Night. The seniors will make that happen.

To me I give Boone the slight advantage over Dixie, but like someone said Dixie should give Molony the ball at least 30 times this game. Then when Boone gets comfortable with Dixie running the ball then you go play action and hit Detmer deep with a pass. Dixie just needs to run more with Molony period and use Bricking to on quarter back keepers because he has some speed too. Farris will get his yards no stopping that probably, just need to make sure to contain Bogle at quarterback and Doucette at wide receiver and then Dixie might squeak out a victory.

You are right need to use Forrester to open up the offense, once that is done the air-attack should really open up the game for the Eagles. To me Spencer and Hankinson should have good games at wide-out and if Deck is on in the passing game the sky is the limit offensively for the Eagles. Newport does have good backs that need to me contained by the Eagle defense, need to do the same thing we did defensively against Holmes.

You are right Scott is over-matched is this game and it should not be debated. I don't think Highlands will be up 45 points in the first quarter however. Highlands is a very good team as always year in and year out, the coaching staff is excellent and handle things well. I believe Dale will show some class this week score wise,however don't think Scott will lay down they will give it their all as they always do. Their offense can put up points on any given day, just comes down to how the coaches prepare them for this week. I personally think there needs to be more positives given to the kids instead of the negatives given at times because they just seem to bring the kids down and we all must remember that they are kids and not NFL Players and they will make mistakes because everyone makes mistakes even Coaches!!!!!!!

You got to be kidding me about bringing own benches to games. Take up a collection at the gate I am sure people will donate money for benches. I would have donated money that night if I knew it will help the program get benches for the opposing team. Someone down in the Grant County area can build benches and maybe put a Company name on them for advertisement. Come on guys lets don't even go there about bringing benches to the game, they should be provided that is a given. END OF STORY

First of all good game by both teams. Grant County kids deserve the win wish it could of went to second OT. There were a couple of things that upset me very much about playing at Grant County which is not the kids fault. 1. No bench on the visitor side at all could not even put our water coolers up off the ground. This is a disgrace if you ask me come on how much does a couple of benches cost? I know people could even build some. 2. 2 and half minutes to go in the first half, 2 quads appear on our sideline with lights on pulling things for the band for their halftime performance. The drivers drive right down our sideline behind the kids asking them to move while the game is going on,come on show some class people are there for a football game wait til halftime before disrupting the visiting sideline. I personally know your AD and I am sure he will take care of this before your next home game. You guys have a nice facility you should be proud of but I believe you need to make sure these 2 things don't happen again.
