An absolute dominating performance by Justin Moore. He limited the Breds to 4 hits and controlled the game from the mound. Boyds defense played well in support and we added a couple of runs with some timely hitting to win the game. Great job Lions.

Complete blowout game. The Lions hit the ball very well tonight, even though neither team really pitched any of their top pitchers. Ashland looks to be a very young team and are no match for Boyd. Great job tonight Lions!!!!!!

Another good outing from BC's pitchers, Justin Moore went 6 and Casey Branham threw the 7th. I believe they may have only given up 2 hits. Boyds bats finally came to life after they got their timing down on a very cold night to play. Good win for the Lions.

A win is a win. Boyd didn't hit real well, but was good enough to win.

Boyd drops to 2-3 so far on Florida trip as offense continues struggles.

Exactly right!!! It is too early in the season for any pitcher to pitch extended innings. Boyd did the same with its pitchers, with Moore going 3 and Perkins going 2.

Boyd had better get used to these low scoring games and their defense can't let them down like this. They have the pitching, but need to find some more pop on the ofensive side of the ball.

I wouldn't say sloppy for both sides, Rowan was flat out horrible and Boyd made a few early season mistakes. On a bright side though, Boyds pitchers Justin Moore and Tyler Perkins just dominated Rowan tonight. Although Boyds 15 runs appears better than what it really is. Rowan made lots of mistakes and Boyd just capitalized on them. Great job BC and great job of making a statement to the region, esp to those who were predicting an early season upset.

:thumb: AGREED!!!!! Sounds like sour grapes from a sore loser. I wish Drew nothing but the best in life after high school. He has always been a class act in everything he has done, and I am sure that will continue through life. Drew has been the backbone for Ashland bball and will be sorely missed by them, and I'm sure every team in the region will be thankfull that they do not have to face him anymore. It would have at least been nice to be given the chance to make them. That play was drawn up perfectly.

That was how a high school basketball game should be played. Alhough I am dissappointed that the official swallowed his whistle on the last play. Boyd had the pick play set perfect and it worked to perfection with the Ashland player completely running over Casey Branham, but the official was too gutless to call it. Congrats to Ashland and to BC on an extremely exciting game.

:thumb: You are very correct in your assessment, the only thing that I would add is that Jackson needs to develop an outside shot to be truely dangerous. BC sagged their defense on him all night, and he still got plenty of looks at the rim. If he would develop his perimeter game, then teams would have to respect him, then by using his speed, the lane to the rim will be wide open.

No one wanted to shoot the ball except for those 2. The rest looked scared and intimidated.

How is that comment gutless when he is being hailed by his coach as the best player in the region. Sometimes the truth hurts, and the truth of the matter is that he was cold in the 2nd half, took some bad shots, and shot them out of the game. The same thing happened to Boyd last season with Owens and he got blasted on here for it. So IMO I don't see one bit of difference. If you play varsity, then you are varsity no matter what grade. So take your lumps and learn from them because I'm sure there will be more positives than negatives in Eutons future.

It really pains me to say this, but I would have to vote for Buddy Biggs at Ashland.

Boyd always tries to hold the ball if they are up near the end of the game. Some of us fans like to call it our "prevent offense" philosophy. Personally I hate it because it takes youout of a rythym and lets the other team back in the game.

And the guys that were trying to start a fight walked right past Ashlands Admin and out the back door, then was let back in by the same admin. Had a BC student done that, the same admin would have wanted him arrested.

Hmmmm, could it be because Ashland's admin had the police over talking to only the BC student section and not the Ashland student section before the game??????

The energy was good from both sides, as it usually is for the BC-Ashland game. The only negative part was the school officials trying to move the BC student section, and at one point trying to get the police to move them. They were taking that way to far. It has always been a tradition for these 2 schools to battle it out across from each other.

Not too many, IMO they still have enough left in the cupboard to make a run this season. They have to replace 2 outfielders and SS. They are still fine pitching wise, but could be a little weak on the offensive side of the ball.
