Boyd Co. 57 Rowan Co. 54

Final.

Questionable stuff at the end of the game by the Vikings. Good win by Boyd.

A much needed win for the Lions, but why only up by one with about 2 mins left in the game do you want to hold the ball?

That was I was saying in my first post. Boyd tried to give the game away, but Rowan wasn't smart enough to take it. IMO - you can never start trying to the hold the ball with a 1 or 2 points lead with that much time on the clock. On the flip side, Rowan started the deperation 3-point attack with about a minute left instead of trying for quick twos and quick fouls. As a result, they missed all the shots and Boyd won the game.

Boyd held the ball for the last two minutes? Did they also do that against Harrison Co?

In any case, congrats to the Lions on a big win. Rowan has to face Mason next, good luck to them.

Boyd always tries to hold the ball if they are up near the end of the game. Some of us fans like to call it our "prevent offense" philosophy. Personally I hate it because it takes youout of a rythym and lets the other team back in the game.

I like that. I may have to use that one.

Don't know anything about either team but what ever they did (holding the ball) must have worked they won right?

How did Casey Branham play?

Any stats?

Frances

Boyd County

Mayhew 6 pts

Branham 6 pts

Blanton 19 pts

Selby 19 pts

Stevens 7 pts

Not sure about any Rowan County stats but Matt Daniels had a good game. It was an exciting game. The Vikings led at half time 33-35. The Lions came back in the 3rd quarter 46-42. I think that Selby had a double double with 19points and 19 rebounds. BC played like a team! :thumb:

They tried to let Rowan win, but it was a battle for who wanted to lose the most.

Boyd held the ball at the end of the game because they had the lead and Rowan refused to come out and guard them. They just saged er inside around Selby.
