I was wondering is it possible for every champion to be "back to back" winners 1A - Beechwood 2A - Fort Campbell 3A - Louisville Central 4A - ????? 5A - Highlands 6A - Trinity? Has this ever happened before?? Either way having 4 of 6 with two games to go is phenominal!!

For those "not in the know", the rallying cry on the Highlands parent/student busses during these playoffs has been "WHO 'YA ROOTIN' FOR?" to which all fans within earshot would yell "HHS"! It's an old cheer used "back in the day". OF COURSE we want ALL NKY teams to come home champions. Feel free to steal the cheer. It's taken on a life of its own...kind of like a secret society password!

I'm nominating HHS Jr "Mr. Everything", Austin Collinsworth. This 6'2" 210 WR/KR/PR/DB had a drive killing interception, 3 catches for 63 yds...including a huge 3rd down catch to keep the opening drive alive and 107 yds in kick returns, featuring a scintillating 87 yard return for TD with a "shake & bake" move on the kicker that was priceless! AC caught a 2 pt. conversion and led a "bend but don't break" defensive effort as Highlands defeated Whitley County 42-16 to move into the 5A State Finals game to defend their title!

Highlands Catholic is playing for the 2A title!!
