I think earning a trip to the State Championship game is a huge accomplishment and each team needs their school's support the entire week leading up to the game. What schools are holding pep rallys and what do they typically do for pep rallys at your school.

I think they all would.

Highlands is having a send off. If you want to send the team off to BRING HOME #18, meet at the High School or Inverness or anywhere from the High School down Memorial Ave.

Beechwood is having a pep rally this afternoon, a team dinner tonight, and breakfast before boarding the bus tomorrow.

Many years ago we had bon fires and rallies. These days, it's more along the lines of send-offs, like mentioned above.

 

But I don't see anything wrong with having a pep rally. They're not supposed to be "celebrations." They're supposed to be about suppoeting your team and getting them (and your fans) fired up for the big game.

Teams that go in with this kind of "ho hum" attitude, and don't get fired up about winning are in grave danger of getting a nasty surprise! You may not like pep rallies; but they're definitely a good thing -- especiallly for teams that have little experience in such a game, or who are big underdogs. So yes, you can never be fired up enough for a championship game.

Our Pep Rally is going on as we speak. (Someone had to hold down the fort!)

The parents usually get involved and 'surprise' the team with some kind of skit or cheer. I would love to be a fly on the wall-Beechwoodfan is probably in full regalia!

I am not worried about any "ho hum attitudes" with Coach Beatty. I think the only pep rallies we have are for the X games, except for maybe a few exceptions over the years. I am not the least concerned about our preparation. Pep rallies are great, but being inexperienced AND too emotional before a big game can actually be a bad thing when the lights come on and it is time to buckle the chinstrap.

LOL, Beechwoodfan had to work, but the Tiger regalia is all set out for tomorrow! Mr. Beechwoodfan was there, and I am sure you can guess how he was dressed!
