Is Jonathon a lock to go to Holmes? I am assuming that he is a Covington kid. There were more than a couple of people in the stands at the NKYFL Superbowl that mentioned Cov Cath was a real possibilty.

I am not dissing Jonathon in anyway. He is going to be an absolute stud in high school. Yes, he was awarded the league MVP. But coach, you know there is a contingent out there that will not vote CCRD because of the advantage and successes they have. Zach is a tremendous player in his own right. Tough on offense and defense.

Jonathan is a great player and was by far and away the best player in the Bengal Tiger program, but not he NKYFL. (but I understand your bias) That honor would have to be a toss up between Scruggs and Zach Harris of Campbell county.

Campbell County was all set to add Ken Morgan (of Red Devils fame) as its frosh coach. I had just "several" parents of incoming freshman complainted to the school board, super, principal, Styers and anybody else that would listen that they did not want Coach Morgan. Just some things that got me thinking: I guess parents run the show out at CCHS. Parents dont want their kids playing for a coach that will demand the best from their kids. CCHS does not want a proven coach who will spend every ounce of energy getting this program to work. That is why CCHS will never be a contender in 6A

Wagner has been around the NCC program for a long time. I know when my younger brother was there in the 80's, he helped coach the frosh with a young guy named Faust and the frosh coach was Mick Dorgan, long time NFF coach. Anyway, I stated my opinion. I have no dog in this fight. NCC made their choice. They will be successful regardless because of the "athlete factory" mentality.

Well, there is a catholic school in Alexandria that would be glad to have him.

Dave Schneider shouldnt be bitter. Apparently, from all reports he didnt have the credit hours necessary and knew that. If he wanted the job, he could have done something about it. But that is just speculation on my part.

Absolutely he needs to make the program his own. Add in a motto, change up the warm-up and stretching routine, and some pre-game routines would be good things to change. But, dont mess with the staff-they know what they are doing.

As a UK fan, I am so happy to see them win. However, I am starting to get concerned. They really have not improved that much over the last month. They still dont put teams away. Obviously, other than the SC loss, they have show a desire to win close games at the end. But, that will eventually catch up to them. Coach Cal is starting to show a little frustration with mistakes and pulling guys out of games left and right. Come on CATS, you have to be willing to learn a little to bet better. You wont win every game on talent alone.

Why would the smart move be to retain the staff? Well lets see, they have been to 4 finals in the last 5 years and have two titles to show for it (I believe is what I heard). That is good enough reason for me. I am a firm believer in "If it aint broke, dont fix it"! He is a former student and athlete at NCC. Well that doesnt matter. Anybody that went there (yes I did), should be able to tell you about the politics in parachial schools, especially NCC. Besides, do you remember when people were calling for Bob's head about 10 years ago? They turned on "the longevity legend". Finally, being a college player does not mean that you can coach. Yo have to know how to deal with parents, boosters, administration, time commitments, players in trouble...etc. That is a challenge to anybody, especially for someone with limited coaching ability. Wags has over 20 years of coaching the Breds. He has been through the good, the bad and the ugly. He has seen how Bob handled things. He's had the pressure of being a D coordinator. Wags would be the better choice. That is my opinion.

I personally think that Wags would have been the better choice. Does anybody even know if he was interested in being the HC? or if he "interviewed" for the job? If he was and was passed over, how would he feel about being passed over? Does his loyalty mean anything? Eviston's smartest move would be to make sure the entire staff returns. If not, I don't things will go well up on the hill!

I say go the route of MLB and the winning conference in the Pro-bowl automatically wins the coin toss or has the Superbowl at the field of the conference champ.

OK, back to the game... I must say that I wasn't really worried about beating Arkansas, but thought that the 'backs could give them a game for a while (based on their effort against Texas and Florida). So, I am impressed with the defensive effort by the CATS, especially the job they did on Clark! One thing that I dont get is how people say you should beat UK by playing zone and packing it inside. IMO, the dribble drive offense is very effective against this. You penetrate and as soon as the defense collapses, you find an open player (not so much in man to man, though the guards would take it to the rim more). Secondly, the CATS transition game is getting better and better as the season goes on. Great job today, keep improving as you go and UK will be cutting down nets in March.

Is it true that the NKYFL has folded the Dayton youth program? I heard that they did since they have not been competitive in a long time and continually have very low numbers. Also heard the same for Ludlow too.
