It was 17 senior starters not that that sounds much better. You make a valid point, but next years team will be able to handle that schedule as well as any team could handle a schedule like that.

If Clay Cecil plays running back does that mean Guduigli (sp?) would be the starting quarterback?

They did only lose two games and one of those was a very narrow loss to Cincinnati St. X. What do you have to back up your opinion that the JV wasn't very good despite a 6-2 record? CovCath loses a great senior class, but their junior class which has been stuck behind this talented class finally has a chance to show what they can do. Also the sophomore class this year has great talent on it as well. Once they fill one or two weak spots they will be ready to make another run for a state championship this season.

When very similar rumors came up after last season Coach Rodenberg was very upfront about addressing them to his team, and I'm sure the rumors will be addressed again soon. However, Coach Rodenberg firmly believes in focusing on this years team and more importantly this years seniors until after the football banquet which is this weekend. At that point he shifts his focus to the offseason and getting ready for next year and that is when he would probably address these issues most likely to next years team first.

The younger guys stepping up definately impressed me and many of the other CovCath fans. There were a couple times in the game when CovCath had three juniors and two sophomores on the floor and they matched Dunbar step for step. If CovCath can pull off an impressive win with only one senior playing that gives a lot of hope for when all four seniors are back.

How is that weather forecast an advantage for Bowling Green? Both teams have played in relatively the same weather as each other all season and both teams will be playing in the same weather as each other Friday night.

It's when only the center and both guards stay in the middle of the field by the ball in their traditional spots, while both tackles are split out wide looking like recievers although they are inelgible. There is either a reciever or tight end on the line next to the tackles on both sides. Finally there is a "stick man" on both sides, usually a reciever, who is off the line and between the tackle and other reciever.

If your going to get on here and say the refs gave a home town call you should really get your facts strait first. I wasn't close enough to the final play to determine whether it was a good call or not, but the Highlands players were getting away with plenty stuff. They were trash-talking and taking cheap hits all day, and CovCath got one of their best recievers ejected for just standing there on the sidelines listening to the Highlands player that got ejected talk trash to him. I think the Colonel reciever showed great class in not retaliating which is something that most people couldnt have done with what was being said to him.

Very clutch. Especially considering he was coming off the bench for an injured Matt Young. Both his passes in the final series were right on the money. For the people that did show up it was an exceptionally exciting game for a JV game.

I guess we'll just have to take your word for it then.

I'm curious too, where did you hear this from??? That would be news to me.

I don't understand why any team wouldn't want to let juniors play JV if they're not starting Varsity. All they're doing is getting better so they can start as seniors, so what disadvantage is there?

I figure this is as good a thread as any to ask, but I scrolled through a couple times and didnt see the pick 10 results of week one. Have they been posted yet?

I don't think the rules are the same in Ohio on the heat index because coach Rodenberg said that was one of the adjustments he had to make with going from coaching Ohio to Kentucky. However I don't know that for a fact that's just what he said, so is there anyone who actually knows the rules for the OHSAA who could confirm that?

I wouldn't think that should come as a surprise to anyone. Everyone knows that the CovCath/Highlands rivalry is one of, if not the best in the state, so wouldn't it just make sense that he would want to keep the rivalry in tact. This statement didn't do anythign but confirm that Highlands will have to make a two class jump in order to keep the rivalry going.

Well if you want to make that point with the KHSAA and get them to change their rules on playing over the legal heat index feel free to do so, but until then I'd rather do whatever you have to to get the game in.

Honestly I have no idea that's just what Coach Rodenberg told us today. I'll ask someone tomorrow what caused the change but until then I would only be guessing.

I don't think it's been said on any other thread so I just thought I'd let everyone know the game time is changed to 11:00 am on Saturday at CovCath. Please pass that along to anyone whos planning on going if you could.

Both the starting o-linemen that were out should be back. Andy Schulte will be back for sure. All he had was the same virus everyone else had and will be fine to play and practice all week. Dan Heath, the other O-linemen that was out had injured his shoulder and will most likely be able to play but it will be with a shoulder brace under his pads.

I dont think I've heard that one but Enter Sandman is definately a good one too. just kidding yeah that's a good one
