Ox, we are flying under the radar thus far because we have merited under the radar treatment, based upon scrimmages and regular season. Trinity beat these guys badly in a scrimmage, but the Rocks seem to be firing on all cylinders and may have one of their all time great teams. If Israel plays for Cath and X again has a number of players out with injuries, look for a very tight affair. Predictions for this game are fraught with uncertainty because of the injury bug for both teams. Assuming everyone plays for both teams, X 28-14.

Park1221, the excessive reaction may have been blowback from a long simmering dispute between St. X and Trinity. X has traditionally played few, if any, juniors on the jv team. T traditionally plays juniors, For some reason this rankles followers of both schools. Guru's take on it is similar to the view many of us have: "I think programs do what works for them. Trinity plays juniors on the JV and I strongly assume Moeller does not. I don't have any issue with it, I just want to be informed when I consider the final score of a contest like this, that is all."

I viewed the Trinity "fluke' win over Central. As I recall, the Yellowjackets began taunting a bit when it appeared the Rocks were beaten. Trinity roared back to win 19-12. That Central squad learned the hard way that you don't tug on Superman's cape.

Most knowledgeable football people do concur on a Rocks victory; the margin is the issue, and that could depend on when Coach Beatty inserts the reserves. RockPride, I have always analogized the 94 Trinity team to the 99 X team. X stunned an undefeated Male team in the playoffs, paving the way for a Rocks state title. In 99, Trinity returned the favor, defeating a Henry Clay squad I thought was the best in the state, clearing the way for an X state title.

A good 5A team takes on a 6A team that is the consensus number one in Kentucky this year at the 6A team's home field. BG lost a lot of talent last year (Avery Hibbs, Stuart Hines, etc. but returns an experienced and talented QB and explosive receivers. The O line is inexperienced and the defense was nicked for 21 points by Boyle County. If Trinity has a weakness this season it has yet to be revealed in scrimmages. Already the Rocks have handily vanquished a talented team from a lower classification (Lex Cath in a scrimmage). This could be the beginning of another memorable season for the Shamrocks.
