They were talking about how she has had knee problems and multiple surgeries on that knee, and she seemed to be in terrible pain. I was told she did not go to school today, but hopefully it's not as bad as it sounds. Other than that, I've heard nothing.

Yes, I'd say she'll give it a run, especially if Mason can't develop another solid scorer, which they really need to be a contender. If Menke has another year like this year, then she will come close.

I think she'll fall a little short of 2,000. She would have to do some serious scoring to reach 1,000 in just a little over a year. It took Cline until her senior year to reach 2,000 and she reached 1,000 during her sophomore year.

I agree. Could be a 5-8 point swing either way, IMO.

Mason is coming off a nice win at Deming. Any thoughts on this game? I think it will be a close one.

Congratulations to Keller on her 1,000 points. This is her fifth year as a Lady Royal, and she has improved little by little every year. Good win for the Lady Royals. They need to keep this up heading into Friday's game. Hopefully Queen is okay, as she went down in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. She has a history of knee problems.

I'll take the Saints, but this should be a good game. It seems that St. Pat has trouble putting 4 quarters together. Tonight they started out slow, built a little momentum, lost it, and then brought it back the third quarter, only to lose it again in the fourth. If they could just balance that out over four quarters they would be an even tougher team and bigger threat.

If they're actually good enough, yes. The problem I have is that people are now bringing up a whole bunch of these girls who aren't any more talented than the average 7th or 8th grader. Coaches are trying to develop that star player out of them because it has worked for other schools. If a young'n has it, then you will be able to tell at that age, not to the fullest for sure, but you'll know. Only the deserving should be moved up.

This was a great game to watch. Both teams hustled and battled, but both teams turned the ball over a lot, as well. The 39th district does not have a clear cut favorite by any means at all, but even though Bracken beat Mason earlier in the year, with the way Mason is playing, I have my top two teams as St. Pat and then Mason. Should be interesting come March!

Bracken County is talented, and right now the second best team in the district as far as records go, but 41 turnovers in a game is just unacceptable. When does Chelsea Ahrens come back?

Well let me state the obvious... Rowan County is on a tear. They are undefeated still, and I see them winning their next two games at least, and then they play Lex. Cath. Montgomery County is also playing great ball, and are the hands down favorites of the 10th, having only lost one game, and most of the games against region/district opponents haven't even been close.

I would say so, yeah. I mean really, Queen has stepped up once or twice, but Menke does almost half of the scoring, and sometimes more. I would take my chances double and triple teaming her and making the rest of the team step up.

Shut down Menke and the game's over. Period. Mason County has some young talent, but I don't think anyone could step up to fill that void if she were in foul trouble or having a rough game. I honestly could see it going either way. St. Pat has the better team, Mason County has the best future talent, and they hustle. It's going to be close, imo.

The Lady Royals have the momentum, because they have been improving immensely. That being said, I still think St. Pat will pull out the win, but it will be closer than I once thought. I'll take St. Pat by 7.

I love the catalysts. I just got one last summer and it's great. I love it.

Yeah. Definitely not too shabby for her first appearance at the plate this season.

Yes, this is true. It would also help if Hamilton fell out of her slump. She has been a pretty consistent hitter over the years, but hasn't been able to produce much this year. Her and Greenhill getting on base and producing some hits would definitely help the Lady Royals, especially having 2 great hitters in the 3 and 4 positions to knock them in.
