Simon Kenton 46 Highlands 43

Recommended Posts

Big win for Lady Pioneers! Beginning to put some pieces together the last few games. Beginning to scrap when they need to!:fight: Great defense, I don't know if any Highland players were double #'s and Kayla Smith (SK) has been playing real well even if she fouled out late tonight. Both SK guards making teams pay.

KCC championship game.

Kayla Smith of SK had two huge blocks in the final seconds of the game that were critical to their victory. Kayla played well, but foul trouble limited her playing timie and ultimately almost cost SK the game.

Chelsea Tolliver was unstoppable and played the entire game for SK. I don't know how many she had, but it seemed more than 20. She was absolutely clucth at the end of the game....Chelsea took over the game.

You are right about CT. The team also seems to be transitioning quicker. If they can continue to bring down the turnovers with this picked up pace they are going to be even tougher moving into districts and regionals. They (IMO) just seem to have a bit more attitude about themselves.

Tolliver was outstanding. Coach Stowers had an excellent defense game plan. Simon Kenton needs to reduce the number of bad pass turnovers and the traveling calls. If that is reduced I think they will be hard to defeat the rest of the season.

Tolliver is outstanding!

I know there are a lot of good guards in N. KY.

Who are they?

Katie Allen, Courtney Sandfoss and Allison Long are the three that immediately come to mind for me. And they are pretty good.

She may very well be the best. She is a complete player.

If Tolliver is not the best, who would be?

If you compare stats, ball handling and leadership skills, I think Tolliver is very difficult to beat.

Talk of Northern Kentucky guards have to include NDA's Casey Jackson.

Some are two-guards that should put up bigger scoring numbers since that's the expectation of that position. Others run the point and usually don't score a lot, but they know how to control the floor and help make their teams better. In a nutshell, there are some good player's listed, but it's pretty much comparing apples to oranges.
