1996 3A Playoffs- Conner beats Cov Cath 29-28. I think Bill Samad rushed for nearly 300 yards after rushing for almost 300 the week before against Greenup County.

Austin Pugh, Michael Gill, John Roberts, and Parker Ryle are in the games for Conner.

Brice Smallwood started for the Colonels.

Conner definately needs to step up their defense. They had quite a few errors today.

Yes. Last year it poured during the tournament and all the games were played. They were pushed back significantly, but they still got them all in.

The only time Fogle started during the season was when Conner had West on the mound.

This is the fourth match up between the Cougars and Raiders this year. The last two games were both pretty close (one went into extra innings). Any thought on who takes this game and why?

I agree. I still think I like the old set up better. A team had to have depth in their rotation to make it to state.

Conner will most likely also be throwing a pitcher who Ryle hasn't seen this year. It should be a great game to watch. And I think Boone will squeeze by Cooper to make it to the finals. The 33rd is tough this year. Should be some exciting games:thumb:

No need to be sorry. :thumb: This was also Samad's first start since returning from his injury. But, Conner's bats need to wake up for them to have a chance to beat a tough Ryle team. I would assume Ryle will throw Donovan and Conner will be throwing West.

I am almost certain Samad did not hit in this game. I believe Parker Ryle was the DH for Samad.

The only reason I view this as revenge is because this is the first time the two teams have met since the region game. But the region game definately meant more.:thumb:

Conner gets revenge from last years 9th Region tournament game. Not sure of many stats. West had a double, Roberts and Ryle both had triples. West went 4 innings striking out maybe 5? Way pitched the 5th and 6th and Delph closed it out. Conner is still making terrible running mistakes on the bases. I believe maybe 2 were picked off first. These mental mistatkes need to stop if Conner wants a chance to make it out of districts. Conner Host's Lloyd for senior night tomorrow.
