Details? Who did they beat? Score? Who did each of the finalists play and beat in the semis?

Congrats to Conner - Chris Reilly does a great job with that group.

 

Conner had to beat a tough Ryle team to get to the finals (Anybody have details on that one).

 

CCH was a favorite and had to go extra to beat NCC (Details?)

 

And of course, any details on the final?

Don't know anything about Conner/Ryle game but the CCH/NCC game was a great one. NCC tied it up at 2 in the bottom of 6th, CCH went up 3-2 in top of the 8th and of course, NCC tied it again. Colonels got 2 runs in top of 12th with two outs on singles by Arnzen and Schneider. NCC went 1-2-3 in bottom of inning. Both teams had runners stranded at 2nd or 3rd throughout the entire game.

Cain started for NCC and went 6. Not sure who the other two pitchers were for them. Arnzen went 7 for CCH followed by Ward pitching final 5.

 

These two teams went 10 or 11 innings earlier in year also. Last time they met in semi's a few years back, CCH won in extra innings also.

 

 

In the finals, Conner struck first with a solo homer in 2nd and another run in 4th I believe. Cov Cath got it to 2 -1 with another Schneider two out single before Conner pulled away in 6th with 3 runs. Maile pitched for CCH and Maines? pitched for Conner. He was the story of the game. Pitched very well. Not overpowering but mixed it up and kept ball low. Congrats to both teams.

So the Cougars dropped a varsity starter to play against Ryle and Cov. Cath in the JV tourney.

He has had less than 50 AB's at the varsity level and Sat. was senior day so they didn't use him! Besides he is a true Frosh and dropping him down is not a shock for big games!

VOR..........I could really care less. I made the comment because someone else commented that they only brought him down for Ryle and CC. Other post might show frustration, but mine does not.

Congrats to Connor on the winning the JV Region. In many ways CCH winning this one was almost impossible. Going 12 innings back and forth with a strong hitting NewCath team, and pulling ahead for the victory was just to emotional. (Then sitting for an hour). Connor did the job at the plate, and the Colonels didn't. Had this game been played on another day, and had the Colonels had time to rest, I would say this one would have had a different outcome, but that's baseball you have to deal with the hand your dealt. My hat goes off to Blake Maines, he pitched one heck of a game. (I believe he is a freshman. Am I correct?)
