  1. I can see all three of these becoming reality. One could also add Baker and Schult's extremely hard-nosed defense to the list of contributing factors.
  2. Tommy Arnzen could be that hidden something from last year. If he is healthy.
  3. IMO CovCath's downfall tonight was there offensive line. Defenders we're getting into the backfield like clockwork. Bir (sp?) was running for his life out there, and Slabaugh had nowhere to go. CovCath has to establish a running game to eat up some clock, otherwise your going to find yourself down big late in the game.
  4. I think the u-16's are going to a couple u-18 tourneys this year with the older Colonels.
  5. Pike needs to focus on grades and staying out of trouble...
  6. Well CCH tried it with the class of '09 and it didn't work for them. I guess they did it with the upcoming class of 2012 right?....
  7. These boys play very very good competition. You have a very good question though, but I think the mentality is that they play more on the 16-u teams than the 17 or 18-u teams. That would be my guess. Laumann was 15 on the team last year, he is a young senior.
  8. Sports fan I never said they weren't a good team (They look like they should be a very solid team), I'm just saying there are a few names to be added to that list for top players in the 16-u category.
  9. Again as 15 year olds... Arnzen , Clarkson, and Laumen played 16-u...
  10. I like the way Boone is playing right now, and Dixie had a lot of errors today from what I saw. Should be a very good game. Both teams are hitting the cover off the ball. I say this one comes down to pitching and defense. As of now it's up for grabs.
  11. Hmmm his small ball worked in the State Championship, but I guess he "always" chokes. I think his ring has something to say about that comment... Now I am in agreement that with no outs and men on first and third you need to get the run home, no exceptions. (Especially when your down by one). My biggest problem is the three KO's looking. All you need is a ground ball! CovCath did try to squeeze, but the pitch was low and away and Siemer couldn't get it to go fair. Congrats to both teams on one great game. Good luck to Boone tomorrow in the finals... take home some hardware.
  12. The second pitcher CovCath threw (Arnzen) is coming back from knee surgery, and held Boone's "hot bats" to 2 hits and no runs. In this one and done setting I agree this will be a very good game!
  13. For two rookies in their first outing to hold a top Northern Kentucky team to three runs is saying somthing. 5 runs, I highly doubt it. People have been underestimating this team all year...
  14. It's not a sensitive spot, but if this is about CovCath I'd love to hear an answer as well...
  15. What are you alluding to with this post?
  16. I believe it is one game after the game the incident happened in. If a coach gets thrown out in the first inning of a game, that game doesn't count toward his ban. Am I right on this?
  17. Jeez, seems like this whole situation could have been avoided... Just not a smart play, especially since your about to run rule your opponent!
  18. Congrats to Connor on the winning the JV Region. In many ways CCH winning this one was almost impossible. Going 12 innings back and forth with a strong hitting NewCath team, and pulling ahead for the victory was just to emotional. (Then sitting for an hour). Connor did the job at the plate, and the Colonels didn't. Had this game been played on another day, and had the Colonels had time to rest, I would say this one would have had a different outcome, but that's baseball you have to deal with the hand your dealt. My hat goes off to Blake Maines, he pitched one heck of a game. (I believe he is a freshman. Am I correct?)
