Yes :lol: toward their JV team. I haven't said a thing about the varsity. (Not that there's nothing to talk about, there is!) I just leave that up to TOG :lol:

Agreed, and just my opinion, in most cases if a freshman is a stud wouldn't he be playing JV or Varsity???:idunno:

Didn't Arnzen shut down Holy Cross on Saturday, when he got on? And I could very well see Brugeman getting the start. Though most likely it will be Gerwe or Warning.

If i had to make a prediction, i'd say: CCH-4 HC-2

This one will come down to pitching and small ball. CCH-??? HC-??? (It's extremely hard to make a prediction, when we don't even know who is pitching!)

Agreed summer is where the player will be seen, now if they like what they see, then sure they'll come out and see you in the HS season.

About 100 to 175 dollars for a good usable bat. Though there is a high chance for them to break.

That's just the point, unless your kid plays what do most people go to a game to see? Home runs (or at least hard hits). These kids aren't seasoned pros. They aren't going to have the pop they would have with the metal bats. And let's think for a second, little league with wooden bats? Come on, most kids have trouble swinging a metal bat as it is... You also have to think about a huge industry being killed with banning metal bats. Demarini, Louisville Slugger, Easton, Rawlings, and the list goes on... would suffer a great loss. Like I said before Baseball (IMO) is the greatest game out there, but in playing it you are taking a risk. Some times getting hit is good for a kid. :lol: (Not nailed in the head with a 60 mph line drive, but taking a ground ball in the face is good, teaches them to man up).

I am in agreement that this is very tragic. I don't see metal bats being outlawed though. It is true that a metal bat makes the ball go harder and travel farther, but it would be hard to find someone (IMO) that would say this same occurrence couldn't happen with a wooden bat. It seems like many things like this could happen. Say a rocket ground ball is coming at an infielder, takes a bad hop, and hits him in the face. Though unlikely this could have the same effects. Just something that crossed my mind while reading... "At some point you have to ask, are they telling the truth when they sell the bats, or are they telling the truth when somebody gets hurt?" asked Huffman. "Both can't be true." I said to myself, were you against metal bats before your son got hurt or after? Just a question I felt should be brought up. :idunno: Baseball is a great game, but in playing it (especially at the HS level and beyond) you are taking a risk. Getting hit by a pitch, taking a bad hop on a ground ball, getting spiked while covering a base, or God forbid getting hit by a line drive, it's all part of the game. I hope this young man is alright. Your thoughts?

I didn't say he started. I said he obviously can "play" with whom ever. He showed this by shutting down one of/ if not the best hitting teams in the 9th region for 3 innings. (with 2k's i believe)

Yeah, there looking really good, and just in time for the tourney. Should be fun to see how this one turns out!
