Go Saints. I saw them at Ludlow and I think they are real!

Congratulations to the Lady Saints on their first win over Mason County since the Chambers/Cline/Litzinger era!

 

28 and 8 from Keller Menke were not enough to offset some sloppy ball-handling and 27 Lady Royal turnovers; along with a career-high 27 points from Klee. Every time MC would cut the lead to a basket or so, Saint Pat would push the lead bach to 8 or 10. Some quality minutes from the younger Mason County players in the second half.

 

St. Patrick improves to 10-4; Mason County falls to 5-15 on the season.

Klee and Menke were the best players on the court tonight.

 

Mason Co had no anwswer for Klee and St Pat had no anwser for Menke.

 

Mason Co fought back and got this game very close. I look forward to seeing these two teams play again.

Question #1 - Many times. If you're asking when was the last time, I'm pretty sure it was in 2002 - in the regular season and in the district tournament.

First of all, I remember in 86-87 season Mason beat us (St Pat by 30 to 40 points in regular season) we drew Mason for Dist. tourn. in a 3 team dist. we had the upset of the year! Mason was a top 5 team all year in the state and went on to win the reg. tourn. and played on Sat. morning at state, they had a very good team, but that was the first time we had beat them.

For tonights game, I was very impressed with Mason! When they got down 10 pts they fought back and never gave up.

It was a good high school girls game to watch. I wish both teams good luck the rest of the way.

Mason cut the lead to one and two chances to take the lead but we had a walking call and got another chance and threw the ball straight out of bounds. Mason had 27 turnovers and flat out had no answer to Klee in the paint. She made our inside look really bad. Also Douglas made everything she shot in the JV and Varsity games. Mason also never got in the bonus either half as there was only 5 fouls called on ST. Pat the entire game. St. Pat was a little better tonight but Mason is getting better. Mason has to make more plays when the game is on the line. And yes St. Pat is the favorite in the 39th District.
