  1. Lee has to play Owsley twice, as this district seeds (apparently something JBS would know little about ) and then Lee played Owsley in the all A after Owsley advanced by beating JBS, and Lee played Owsley a fourth time in the district tournament. Don't know why I'm explaining this.... I may do better to write it in Chinese.:jump: Anyway, great game by both teams. I believe Tyler Rich deserved MVP. He earned it and while he may have had an off shooting night, Tyler does a lot more on and off the floor than people realize. He is a great motivator and one down night cannot negate all the nights (including the first round game at Owsley) that he hits his shots and is one of the better players on the floor. Rich also draws defenders inside to allow for open threes. Overall, I'm proud of my Bobcats! This team doesn't seem to get down or intimidated and seems to play with thier heads almost all the time. I don't know what it is about Coach Wright that sticks in people's crawl, I personally love him and love his coaching style! I enjoy the enthusiasm he brings to the game and how he fires up his players, but to each his own. Guess I'm just that old school Bobby Knight/Rick Pitino fire brand kinda fan! That being said, I can't help but love the heart and total determination that this Estill team puts forth, especially Clint Dixon who is, IMO, one of the top three players in the region! The Engineers should hold their head high and be congratulated on a game well played! I for one was glad that there weren't any pesky signs ;) ;) The fans were great, the Lee Co. gym was Rockin' almost the entire game!!!! I couldn't help but think while I was there that this is what basketball is all about! Great game and sportsmanship by everyone. Good luck against JBS Estill. I know you'll represent the 56th well!!!:dancingpa :dancingpa
  2. In my opinion Larry Stamper was the best ball player to come out of Lee County. He led the Bobcats to the State Semi Finals where they lost in overtime to Louisville, Seneca. There's a pretty good article at http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/sports/columnists/mark_story/11134821.htm i advise those who attended small schools to read and for anyone at that matter. Another Lee County great that has been forgotten is none other than Orvis Spencer. Spencer as a sophomore helped take the Bobcats to the Sweet 16 in '73 but were defeated in the first round. After his sophomore year the 6'10'' center's glory days seemed to fade due to whatever...I'm really not sure what happened, i'm assuming maybe personal issues. If anybody remembers when Orvis played please respond to help others know how good he was and how good he COULD HAVE BEEN had whatever happened gone the other way. I'm too young to have watched either of these two play but if anybody has any stories please share...
  3. I pick Hazard because I think they are riding high off their win against PCC and that momentum will boost them. However, I will not be surprised to see Leslie win, as they are a great team and capable of winning. Should be a fun one.
  4. I listened to this one on the radio and whew was it ever a long one. The announcers said that Gilbert threw a punch???? And then Fugate???? What was going on on the floor. Man were there ever a lot of fouls called in this one. Congrats to Jackson City.
  5. Should be exciting. I'm glad for both Rich and Dixon because their seasons will at least go on at least one more game beyond this game and hopefully more. I can't wait!!!!!
  6. I was at the game... sat on the Estill side and enjoyed the game. It was fun to watch though there were a couple of out of control fans on the other side that got to be a distraction for me. Was glad that the injury scare turned out to not be serious and had the priveledge of bumping into Mr. Dixon after the game. Class A act IMO and a talented player. I wish him the best of luck though I'll be rooting for my Bobcats. I heard and spoke to several Powell fans after the game. Didn't really have the heart to tell those loyal to their Pirates I thought their complaints about the officiating was off base. If anyone should complain Estill shouldda but they won so it was all good. Great atmosphere and can't wait till Friday when I'm sure the atmosphere will be just as good, if not better.
  7. I'm glad the PCC fans didn't play the "refs cheated" card in this thread. Congrats Hazard on a nice quality win here. And I think PCC lost with class in this thread so far.
  8. Congrats Hazard! I had a feeling this would be their year.
  9. Great Game Bobcats!!!!! The Bobcats held Smith to 13 I believe. Lee won this game without scoring a three pointer! Owls were ready for this one, and just fell short. Bobcats played good defense and pounded the ball inside well.
  10. :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire: OK, enough with the fire...its getting old. :fire: :fire: :fire:
  11. As far as talent wise, Cody Gilbert has to top the list. When talking about helping the team the most, I would agree with Tyler Rich. But Hicks from Hazard is a good pick as well.
  12. I think somewhere on another post it stated JBS cancelled its regukar season game with KCC.
  13. According to JBS, Knott wouldnt schedule them. Knott says JBS cancelled. I'll believe KCC.
  14. KCC has a very nice gym too. The Patriots do play together, and even though they have some all stars on their team, they share the ball well. They have a bench that plays well too.
  15. I don't think the owls are missing anyone and at any rate I don't think it will be a blowout. Owls will be ready. I just hope my Bobcats aren't overlooking them.
  16. Can't stall the ball without the lead.lol. Owsley still has the same matchup problems they have had all year and I see no reason the outcome will be any different.
  17. I think Hazard has the potential to win. Just have to see what happens on the floor, but I think this is Hazards year to pull out an "upset".
  18. As I said before I pick Knott, great teamwork, great talent, great sportsmenship. They play with heart and determination. Plus they have home court advantage. This will be JBS's first matchup with KCC as I believe JBS cancelled a prior matchup in the season. Guys please watch what you say...
  19. Wow looks like Hazard played team ball. Several players scoring in double digits. Hazard has a great team this year. I bet the matchup against PCC will be an exciting one. Good luck to the Bulldogs. No one should really go out of their way to bash a player.... but again I think there is a difference between saying the coaches are padding the stats, which to some it may legitamately appear to be happening, and "bashing" a player. People on these threads keep wanting to accuse others of bashing a player when in fact those "others" are criticizing the coaches. No one is above criticism... and people should feel free to critique the coaches if they want. Not to be overly mean or anything, if the kids happen to read this... hopefully there isn't anything mean spirited written about the kids... but high school is nothing compared to what you'll hear in college... just ask Saul Smith. That's my opinion and it's worth about as much as anyone elses on here... very little ...
  20. Thank you for the info, glad it's not bad. Sometimes around the eye area can lead to bad cuts ... just ask Vitali Kltiscko. *LOL*
  21. Any predictions? It is senior night for Cody Gilbert. I hate to see such a talented player graduate, but wish him the best in the future.
