  1. Jason Osbourne pitched a great game. Lee honored the senior members of their squad and played well.
  2. It was great to see Tyler decide to pursue higher education and to sign to play at the next level. Tyler received a "full ride" in recognition of his athletic ability. Congratulations Tyler!:dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa
  3. YAYAYAYYAYYAY as a Pioneer alum, (Go Class of 2001) I was glad to hear this!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Great Game Lee County!!!!! Definately cannot wait to go to Applebees
  5. Sorry Professor, didn't mean to be a copycat. And thanks. You know ... maybe we may be onto something if both an Owsley fan and a Lee fan can agree on somehting. - ha ha, just joking around. BigBlueFan, I'm just a fan of athleticism... unfortunately I was not blessed with any of that talent myself. I understand that parents and students aren't always as focused on academics as I tend to be or would like them to be ... but at the same time it's my opinion that this "mandatory focus" of sorts... tends to backfire... those parents and students are not any more likely to pick up the slack they've let gather the rest of the year. I do agree that maybe farther distanced games should be scheduled around testing. I don't think that taking the testing situation into consideration when scheduling and looking at travel times is unreasonable. But I do think forcing all games to be cancelled is just not a reasonable expectation, nor is it a reasonable reaction. Like I said, I don't have all (or any really) of the answers. I just don't think that there is really any benefit to forcing all games to be cancelled. I'd be curious to look at schools that don't cancel games and schools that do cancel games and compare testing scores, (and it would be especially interesting to see a history of these schools, like say see the scores before they began cancelling games) to see if there was any impact. The problem is it is so difficult to prove one way or the other because there are a lot more factors determining a student's performance than just ballgames.
  6. I believe testing is important... and while I'm not sure the currents tests are the most effective way of measuring how a school is performing, there has to be some sort of way to measure the performance of the academic cirriculum and teachers at a school. While I think the current tests are... a load of huey, I'm not sure what the right way would be to determine if a school is "up to par" or is performing academically. All that being said, I have a lot of experience taking tests.... seven years of higher education on top of the 8 years on the academic team while in elementary, middle and high school tends to give one way too much experience with tests. hahah. I don't think a ballgame will really impact a student's performance. In all honesty, "cramming" and tyring to over prepare tends to make students more nervous and stressed and can actually lead to lower scores. Perhaps if testing days were treated as "normal" as possible, students could perform optimally. This is not to say that students should stay out all night, whatever, but I do think that permitting a game or two during testing week could help. But ... what do I know? Just my two cents.
  7. I don't know much. He had a bandage around his upper arm yesterday after the game... but not really sure if that was froma "sports injury" or just a scratch or something else. Haven't heard that he is hurt... but I'm not always the first to know
  8. Was a great game to watch. Lee's feilding looked a little shaky but settled down. Good win for Lee.
  9. Wish our board would agree. :sssh:
  10. Good win for the Bobcats, and great to see Thomas battle back from a four run deficit to win the ballgame. I don't believe I have seen a player in quite some time that plays with the emotion that Thomas does! Christopher for the Engineers appears to be just as talented in baseball as he is in basketball. The field looks great. Wonder if Coach Combs would like to offer landscaping advice on my yard
  11. I believe Congleton pitched for the Owls and there were no homers in this game. Congleton looked a little unsettled all night and seemed to have difficulty with control, throwing behind batters and hitting three ... maybe more. He really seemed out of his element, which is not like him at all. Hope everything is all right. Lee's fielding did a great job too. Congrats Bobcats, and Congrats to Owsley for making it to the finals.
  12. Noone has mentioned here about Caleb Fetters going down in the middle of the 4th. Scary moment and I wish him well. That seemed to take the wind out of the Lee sails when Fetters hit the floor. Hopefully his ankle will get better very soon and it isn't serious.
  13. Either way, regardless of whether they play or not being sick is not going to help.
  14. Actually spoke to one of the mentioned players at lunchtime, when he returned from the doctor... but had been hearing the rumor since last night.
  15. Kind of concerned for my Bobcats tonight. Justin Liesegang has the flu as does Landan Johnson and both are out of tonights game. Justin started every game this year and Landan was our in our first group of subs. Lee will have to play harder than all year shorthanded and we will need big games from Devin Taulbee and Dustin Liesegang tonight. Either way, get well soon.
  16. That seems a little disrespectful to me. I don't think Lee has allowed more than 2 people to score 30 all season. They are defensivley sound. Very quick and very "in your face" with the D. Its not impossible for him to score 30, but I think unlikely.
  17. I disagree. Lee has the deepest bench for sure. 9 deep. They consistantly go 7 or 8 deep every game and they have a really good freshman in Aaron Charles that comes in at times for shooting. Lee has the best bench, but I agree that Estill is deep as well.
  18. I pick Estill because of their experience and ability to stay calm no matter what the situation on the floor is. JBS is young and from the games I've heard on the radio seem to play young... not always focused. Should be a good game though but I think Estill pulls it out in the fourth quarter and wins by double digits. Let's please stay on topic and try to not let this distintergrate into some silly sandbox fight.
  19. Perhaps Estill should've played Riverside and Piarst a coupla times to boost their Cantrall. hehehehe. Just kidding. Makes it look like tonights game should be a close one.
  20. Yes, Fetters didn't play much last year but improved greatly over the summer. How many players did Leslie lose last year? I picked Leslie to win the region before the season started. They have played inconsistant maybe because of injuries. I have alot of respect for the Leslie players and coaches. I am pulling for my Bobcats though to pull the upset.
  21. I agree Professor. Sometimes, IMO, people tend to only look at points scored to judge a player's ability and there are a lot of things other than score a player can do. To take nothing away from Fetters, he is one great player, I just believe Tyler has a leadership quality on the floor that sometimes goes unnoticed (a la Chuck Hayes @ UK).
  22. I pick JC in this one, but Cordia could prove me wrong. Not that I don't have faith in the talent and ability of the Tigers (they are one heck of a team); but I think Cordia is not someone to be taken lightly either.
  23. I take Estill; they are cool headed and have plenty of heart to go around. I enjoy watching these guys play.
  24. I don't know I can see Wolfe taking Hazard out; it happened in the all A. Who knows though just depends on if Stamper can play well and if Gilbert can stay out of foul trouble and keep his head on straight. I think Hazard will probably win, but I think it will be close.
  25. Should be an interesting matchup, I kinda figured Lee would draw Leslie. Hate that we got the late game but C'est La Vie as they say. I can't wait.
