56th district final at Lee county.

 

The Engineers make it to the 14th region tournament in their first year in their new region. Friday night's championship game with Lee County should be a dandy. The Bobcats have won all 3 matchups this year between the two, and I see no difference for Friday's title game. But Lee had better not look past Estill....it's very important to go to the region as a winner.

I figured this game would have been alot closer. Looks like Estill is hitting on all cylinders.

Estill overcame that pesky "hard to win three" factor an completely dominated Powell. Estill is a top regional contender, and the game friday with Lee will be a barn-burner. If you are coming, better be there early because house will be packed.

Powell struggled from start to finish. IMO they play a lot better over in Stanton.

I was there at the game. It was very intense, Stuart Reese hit some big times threes in the game. It seem like ever time you seen a rebound for estill it was in Clintons hands. Estill came out to a 7-0 start and powell never lead the whole game. Over all great game for estill. The fans where cheering loud and seem thta everyone from Estill was there. The place was pack 30 min. before the game. Look out Bobcats!!!

Oh man what a game for Estill. They were absolutely firing on every cilinder that you could imagine. Dixon was just unstoppable on the boards. Reese and Puckett threw in some huge buckets. Berryman led with hustle and Christopher did a good job holding on to the ball.

 

The crowd was deafining on the Estill side and just completely took Powells out of the game. They even stole the Powell county free throw superstition of extending the index finger in the air and coming down with the big "swoosh."

 

All in all - a very exciting game if your an Estill fan...probably one that was hard to sit for if you were for the pirates.

 

Should be a heck of a game Friday night.

I think so too, Mountain Man. I think the Estill team that took Powell by storm tonight could easily march into Rupp.

 

It also probably depends on what kind of crowds the team can get to Knott County - but I would think both teams will be doing what they can to get their fans to Hindman.

Congrats to Estill Co. Glad they are doing so well in their new district and region. They were in our district and hard for them to advance to region against GRC and Montgomery.

Not sure if he was there or not....but if he was sitting on the Estill side - chances are...he was very much into it. Man were they into this game. :flame:

Did they? I rememeber it being 9-9 within maybe 30 seconds of the first quarter. Estill jumped off to a big lead and Powell came storming back...but that was about the end of their fire power tonight....other than cutting the 20+ lead to 9 before going back down again by 20 there at the end of the game.
