I will say 1st off he would have been my third choice. There was one much better choice IMO but he was an outsider and not as easy of a choice. This is not an easy process and I have respect for the committees decision and will support the program 100%. But my real reason for posting is who wrote the above Bio? Little heavy on the cheese don't you think? If he was Never at Beechwood or Moeller what would it say? The one that kills me is...COACHED with 5 NFL players???? I agree in part,but it has gotten better recently. The Holmes game last friday night was a nice crowd. Tonight will be a good test for the fans to see if they come out to support their team as they should. You can't change the culture overnight.It will take winning and time.

The Dixie RB you are refering to was Larry Schieber. He did spend some time with the 49ers but was out of the league by the time they won their first.

Fair enough. I do think their bigs need to learn to use their bodies to take up space VS trying to outquick someone. I never said anything about their hustle, they have plenty of that. Overall they have a very good team in my opinion. I think they can do better. With what Holmes had to offer this paticular night Beechwood should have knocked them off. Mental lapses cost them. Just my opinion.

Outside of Romes Beechwood is (was) extremely soft.They have a few big bodies on the inside but they do not take advantage of their strength. They tried to beat Holmes at there own game. Romes and Moore are the only guys on the floor that can play that type of game for Beechwood. Does anyone else think Beechwood got tired prematurely? I know Romes was sucking wind early in the 3rd. If Beechwood is ever going to knock off a team of Holmes caliber it has to do it with ball movement and sceens etc. They are not going to beat people off the dribble (outside of Romes) they can get away with that style against most of their schedule...but not Holmes. Their inside players want to play like point gaurds.

I think Miller has 8 title rings as a player and coach. Did'nt Biggs also assist at Beechwood in football as well as BB? There may be a strong Mike Yeagle influence here?

He also has a Beechwood grad on his staff....Imagine that a CCH guy and a Beechwood guy together in BB...

Sharp you are right on the money. NCC may be struggling right now, but they have only had their kids for a month or so due to football. They will be a factor at some point in the 9th region. As for the Brossart game no one has won there since Dec. of 2002. Why does everyone think this will be a walk in the park for PC? Any team in the state would have a hard time winning there. Biggs does not overlook anybody period.

Pat elliott at Pendleton County is having a great year. Averaging 17points and 9 rebounds and 4.5 assists playing the center position. pendleton is currently ranked third in the state according to the Cantrall ratings. Tyler Mains is having a great year as well. Averaging 14.5 points per game and 5 assists a game while guarding other teams best players.

Maybe it was considered Harrison North when he was in Harrison, but he has dropped 4 of 5 to the Wildcats since being at Campbell Co.

it is a tough place to play. Pendleton has a 17 game winning streak at home on the line tonight. Interestingly enough last home loss was to Campbell in Dec. of 2003. They also has a 21 game winning streak against 10th region opponents. Pendleton has also beaten the camels 7 out of the last 8. Should be a good one.

that is why they tip it up and play 32 minutes. Anything can and will happen. Ask South Laurel. Can Newport do it? Anybody can do it. No matter how good you supposedly are you have to show up and play hard and well or you get beat!

Also what about Kelly Wells. He is no longer coaching in the region, but is still coaching. He had a great run in the region. 53 in a row against 10th region teams. Pendleton's 21 in a row pales in comparison. Three straight titles and a state title.

That is where I disagree. The previous posters said Biggs loses 80% of his starters next year. We'll he lost 60% from last year, and has played a horrific schedule and is 10-2. That is not a real test? Sure he loses 6 more great seniors this year, but he has proven himself so far this year as well. As you stated before scheduling sometimes helps. Maybe he will schedule softer next year?

agree with you on Rison but name me a team that has lost their 3 leading scorers, top 2 rebounders and 3 out of top 4 in assists and is ranked higher now than they were last year. Pendleton has done that. Granted the season has a long way to go,but the coaching staff there is doing something right. Schedule maybe tougher than last year as well. Rison and Reitz deserve to be on there for their longevity and success. Biggs is only in 5th year. Hard to compare with guys who have been doing it 25 as a Head Coach.

In response to Sports Mojo Phillip Wood had 285 wins and 11 district titles and two regional titles in I believe 16 seasons as Pendleton County's Head Coach. Biggs has 84 wins and two district titles, and one Regional title and is currently about 1/2 through his 5th season. Biggs is second in winning percentage in school history with a record of 84-49 for 63%. No one is likely to catch the first place person in that category Mr. Richard Julick who coached one year at what is now Pendleton County High School after the merger and went 31-6 for 83%.
