letabrotherspeak Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Dogs get key win for seeding purposes @ Beechwood tonight. Jefferson did not play and Rice sat out the entire first half, and participated in the third quarter. Hill and Henderson led the Dogs.. Tigers led by 1 at the half, Dogs lead by 7 at the end of the third quarter and built the lead to 12 before Bwood whittled it to 6 in the closing seconds.
cshs81 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Will the Dogs have a complete lineup Wednesday?
letabrotherspeak Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 I think they will be back at full strength for their next game, which is Monday night, I think...
B-Ball-fan Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 For whatever reason Jefferson sat out, or Rice only played the 2nd half, I think building a strong bench even during an important district game is the best thing the Bulldogs can do for itself. They are a legitamate state contender and for them get a stronger winning edge at Rupp this year or next they need an impressive bench. A game like tonight's was a great test for Holmes' supporting cast and they rose to the occasion. Taking nothing away from Beechwood, I thought that they played a tough game and they showed that they've got something to say this year. I was really impressed by them and they'll make the 35th tourney that much more interesting. Hopefully Jefferson and Co. are mature enough to understand the importance of building a strong TEAM and that their patience can only payoff in the end. Jefferson has more of a chance of cutting down the nets in Lexington as long as he has deeper support from the entire team. For that to happen, him graciously taking a back seat at times is the best thing that he can do for himself to have his day in the sun. Ultimately, I think as the Bulldogs grow, they've got a nice shot at making alot of noise at Rupp the next couple of years. The 9th Region is due for some glory

All Play No Work Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I think they will be back at full strength for their next game, which is Monday night, I think... Kind of makes scouting the Dogs and preparing a team for them a difficult chore.
greendevil Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 why are Rice and Jefferson sitting games out??? it is just to rest them and develop the bench or are there other reasons???
BigStud Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 why are Rice and Jefferson sitting games out??? it is just to rest them and develop the bench or are there other reasons??? Jefferson's mom gave him an in house suspension on grades. He met school standards but not Mom's. Plain and simple. Everyone should applaud Mrs. Jefferson.

WOW, you have got to love a Mom who understands what is really important in her son's life and then sticks to her guns. :thumb: to her and any parent who puts her child education before sports.... If I were a college coach, his stock just rose on my chart!

cch5432 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Romes put up 24. Nice performance. Who guarded him?
ColonelCrazy Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Props to Mama Jefferson, if that is in fact true. Why didn't Rice play?
