Outside of Romes Beechwood is (was) extremely soft.They have a few big bodies on the inside but they do not take advantage of their strength. They tried to beat Holmes at there own game. Romes and Moore are the only guys on the floor that can play that type of game for Beechwood.

Does anyone else think Beechwood got tired prematurely? I know Romes was sucking wind early in the 3rd. If Beechwood is ever going to knock off a team of Holmes caliber it has to do it with ball movement and sceens etc. They are not going to beat people off the dribble (outside of Romes) they can get away with that style against most of their schedule...but not Holmes. Their inside players want to play like point gaurds.

People are mad i posted that but there were false rumors flying around so I finally posted the truth to end them. I hope people who read that understand it was posted positively, everyone knows DJ is a bright kid and his mom was just look out for his best interest.

Z5 I agree with much of your post but strongly disagree with other parts as does the 3 others with whom I attended the game. The part that I most disagreed with was your inference that the Beechwood big men played like guards. Miracle was by far the hardest playing kid on the floor for either team. He does not have the skills of most, but he was all over the boards and got several floor burns going after loose balls. I did not see anything wrong with Edmiston's play either.

You are spot on about the lack of wisdom in Beechwood's guards trying to drive thru traffic to get to the basket. There was no comparison between the Holmes guards and Beecwood's guards, even without Jefferson.. Beechwood probably should not have pushed the action, but their half court game was resulting in absolutely glaring turnovers anyway. Beechwood played as well as could be expected and lost to a better team. Beechwood's coach was critical of his team's passing and he understated the situation to protect the guilty. I don't know anything about Beechwood's bench, but it must be very thin for him to continue playing guys who threw the ball to anyone who wore some red.

Fair enough. I do think their bigs need to learn to use their bodies to take up space VS trying to outquick someone. I never said anything about their hustle, they have plenty of that. Overall they have a very good team in my opinion. I think they can do better. With what Holmes had to offer this paticular night Beechwood should have knocked them off. Mental lapses cost them. Just my opinion.
